I think Spider-man looked good, but it’s clear that RT takes a lot of the budget
If only someone could’ve predicted this
Just got around to watching Spider-Man 2 in 4K, but I’m not impressed. By that, I mean all the scripts happening during missions seem great to look at, but it is mainly that, set-pieces. I want to see more about what you can do in the open-world.
As someone who wanted to love the first (massive Spidey/Marvel fan), I just couldn’t be impressed by the game structure being exactly the type of game I played millions of times before… so I’d wager the open world is going to be about the same as the first in that it’s primarily built around collecting things and doing x activity 30 times. Nothing from this trailer indicates anything will be different.
For those that loved the first and MM, that will be a great thing, but for the rest of us who’ve already played collectathon-1000 open-world games time and time again, I don’t think this will change our opinion.
Yeah, it doesn’t seem to bring something really new. For now, it is not the game that will convince me to buy a PS5. I’m already busy with Zelda.
I am probably squarely in the target demographic for the Spiderman games. I’ve been a fan of the character for as long as I can remember. I still have a big collection of Spidey comics from the 70s and 80s in a closet somewhere.
I really enjoyed the stories of the first game and Miles. Combat was fun enough. Swinging through New York and exploring the map were great the first time.
But even I could not make it through the collectathon stuff, and I burned out on the Street Crime missions after seeing each type twice.
The game structure is 100% Ubisoft open world. I like those games. I have played a ton of them. But there is absolutely nothing innovative about the game design anymore.
I’m having a hard time getting excited about Spidey 2. I really hope after this one they will slow down and figure out a way to innovate some. But if this one sells 25 million copies, which it probably will, I doubt they will do that.
Sony are literally living off of Brand loyalty these days, if Sony was accurately reported on their would be a host of issues that people would be reporting on it.
They have almost nothing real first party coming out in the future that we know of. No other Game platform owner would get this kind of leeway to fuck up so much with next to no backlash.
It’s really sad that post-Uncharted 2 set-pieces mean “scripted, cinematic-like sequences with little to no player agency”. That “set-piece” at the end of the Spiderman 2 trailer looked so damn boring…press left, right and triangle from time to time to trigger a scripted, well animated little cut-scene…umm OK I guess? I don’t understand how this can be exciting but I guess different strokes for different folks.
That’s what got Resident Evil in trouble with the sixth game.
It was already boring with Shenmue 20 years ago. in fact i think it is quite popular with casual gamers, since you can produce some nice moves on screen with barely zero real skills.
Good lord almighty, one of those guys at one point is acting like some world shattering tragedy has occurred.
The guy dressed as Big Boss from MGS3 asks where Sucker Punch was, well…clearly not ready to show their new project. I will never understand how grown ass men can act this way. One dude says he wants to see games that are not coming to Xbox…what? Why do you even game bruh?
I won’t deny that I enjoy seeing this, always the arrogant, annoying down talking and dissing of Xbox. Acting as if Sony is some kind of God, or king.
King Davids reaction was priceless
Spider man 2 looked great
It didn’t had bright and vibrant colors like the horizon games. So people think its not good. Unfortunate
But not a very big difference with MM and the first game and for a PS5 exclusive you’d expect more. I do understand the disappointment from fans.
i wasnt impressed for sure. it looked like the first one with small improvements (maybe?). To be expected of course but i played the first one and miles morales on my pc and this graphically does nothing for me. I might say pc version on high ultra looks better than this.
It does look good but I don’t think the bright colours have anything to do with people thinking it’s not a big jump
People just expected more, me included from one of the most technically gifted studios out there
I think fans were hoping for a graphical showcase from somewhere. With Xbox, they had Stalker 2 which still looks impressive mind you. Starfield was only hurt by performance but you can tell it’s going to be impressive, like how people felt seeing Skyrim for the first time.
Reply to my comment is just proving what I said.
