Sounds very promising then hehe.
+1 Hogwarts
Finally got to level 34 and won the house cup to roll credits
Prediction: by the end of the year I will be negative points because I can’t fight off my fiendish urge to buy more games forever.
Thanks for your thoughts guys! Yeah was having this thought that maybe the game is that big just because it recreated Hogwarts perfectly and things of the sort. Glad to know its a great game!
I was wondering about something… How do we feel about really small games?
A big part of me feels it’s a bit wrong to award equal points to a 1-2 hour game and something like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey f.e. I have lots of these smaller games, but seeing as a lot of them are shorter than many DLC’s the full point just seem wrong to me.
Not sure how one would determine what’s worth what though. But what do you guys think?
I suppose it’s just a friendly competition to push people to clear some of their Backlog, so to me me it really doesn’t matter the size of the game. Game is a game. I personally go for single player campaigns that are around 6 to 8 hours. But also… I will beat you @Jorge_Alexander_Acos
I understand the sentiment. Logically, it doesn’t make sense that a 100 hour game counts the same as a 2-hour game. However, I think we open a huge can of worms if we start trying to give games different points based on length. What’s next, differentiating on difficulty?
Probably better/safer just to keep things as simple as possible.
I feel like a game is a game. If you bought it and its in your backlog, it counts.
If your backlog consists of twenty 100 hour games, well…
Yeah, a game is a game. Thanks for the input guys.
Finally finished Persona 4 Golden. + 1.
(I own it on Vita - one of the very few physical cartridges I bought for that system, but never played more than a few hours of it on the handheld.)
Really great game. Definitely not as stylish as P5R, and the “dungeons” in P4G don’t compare to P5R either, but I prefer the cast and the story in P4G (just by a bit).
I’ve now played Soul Hackers 2, P5R, and P4G all in roughly the last eight months, so I will be talking a break from Atlus games for a while. I enjoyed all of them, but I probably would have liked them even more if I had spaced them out a bit.
Glad to hear you liked it! I really need to get back to P4G. Was digging it more than P3P and SH2, but gotta agree that (at least so far) P5R has a style that really pulled me in immediately.
I haven’t played any of these… Is Soul Hackers 2 good?
It is good - there are some nice twists in the combat and power/upgrade systems that aren’t present in the other games. I also enjoyed the story in SH2.
However, in a lot of ways SH2 is a stripped down version of the Persona games. It does not have all the social link stuff and the side activities are pretty bare bones as well.
I overall agree with @profjjj. While I like Soul Hackers 2, it definitely has some issues. The dungeons themselves are pretty barebones for the most part (especially in a certain zone that you can work on leveling up connections with your side characters iirc).
The cast itself is interesting and I love Cyberpunk worlds so that gives it some brownie points. If you’re going for one ATLUS game I’d highly recommend just going to Persona 5R. If you’re not into it I’m not really sure there’s much of a reason to try out SH2 unless you think the aesthetic is enough to enhance your enjoyment.
Overall I enjoyed it though.
Mainly the fact that it seems to be a shorter game is what’s making me more interested in SH2, that and the cyberpunk.
I’m not sure I have 100+ hours of high school socializing in me tbh.
+1 The Last of Us: Part 1 (PS5)
+1 Terminator Resistance Enhanced (PS5)
+1 Marvel’s Midnight Suns (Steam)
Really loved this game. I’m sure it is one I will be replaying for years - much like XCOM and XCOM 2. I went for a “light” playthrough with a male Hunter for my first playthrough. So next time around I will probably switch it up and go dark with a female Hunter.
No idea what I will do next. After playing P4G and Midnight Suns simultaneously/back-to-back I probably need to find something shorter and not turn-based. I haven’t finished Hi-Fi Rush or Plague Tale yet, so one of those may fit the bill.
+1.5 Marvel’s Midnight Suns DLC (all three of them)
I completely forgot that I had played through the first two DLC (DeadPool and Venom) while completing the main game. I was reminded when I saw a big steam ad a few days ago for the launch of third DLC (Morbius). So, I downloaded the Morbius DLC, loaded up the game again, and ran through the DLC over the last couple of nights.
Each of these DLCs adds 3-4 story missions to the game, includes lots of story elements and cut scenes, and adds the character as a permanent roster member. All three DLCs have a vampire themed story, which form a complete story arc when combined.
I enjoyed all three DLCs, but I don’t think they are really worth the $15 retail price (each). Luckily, I had them all as part of the legendary edition, which I bought on a pretty good sale last year, so I don’t think I “overpaid” for them.
-2 had to buy mirrors edge due to thise rumors of being delisted and Dragon ball xenoverse 1 because my little cousin really wanted to play it :c
Been playing long games these days with the witcher 2 and ni no kuni and persona 3 on gamepass.
