Well they own the IP and assets so that’s better, but let’s see about that. I don’t have real trust in that game, just some hope.

The upside is mostly on presentation. Knowing that Sony got involved, that made perfect sense. Truth be told, I was interested in the game, but I wasn’t sold or buy the hype. My only caution flag is the gameplay back in Summer Fest with the tidal wave. Lasted way too long that made Sony drool.

I just found out the streamer I follow Maximilian Dood rage quit the game and delete because the dodge mechanic was awful. I was asleep but damn, if he has, that is not good.

I know him. He’s often quite calm and laid back, right?

Sounds like a Game Pass game :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

He just like to have a good fun time. He mainly play fighting games, but he does like Monster Hunter and Souls series. Xbox gave him XSX which is cool. But yeah, the fact he deleted it is not good, and this is the guy that played Souls game as well as some of notorious frustrating hard games like Mortal Kombat Sub Zero.

“First time?” -DICE

Anytime a professional reviewer who’s had days head start gives a “review in progress” I’m highly skeptical of their opinion.

It’s just code for I’m waiting for the group to tell me what to think. Don’t take those reviewers seriously.

this looks like an AA or an A level game that got to the hype levels of an AAA game.

That’s sad tbh. Making games is hard.

Thinking about the crunch problem and how it didn’t seem to have payed off in the end is even more sad.

The atmosphere, trailers and marketing were really good.

I’m still interested to play it someday.

Maybe some of the reviewers, but ACG isn’t one of those. I’ve never seen him as one of those.

There’s some 7 and 8 in there, so it seems that there’s some fun to have with the game.

There’s also this review.

Apparently he’s known for 100%ing a game before he reviews it.

He says the combat is actually quite engaging and tough, a lot of weapons to choose from, great world building and atmosphere.

As for the weak points, lack of enemy variety, performance and camera occasionally fucking things up during fights.

Overall, he enjoyed the game quite a lot and says as a package it’s pretty good.

The reviews for that took me by surprise, I had no idea it was developed by Firaxis either. Will definitely pick it up at some point.

Sony had nothing to do with Rise, nintendo paid Capcom 6m for exclusivity according to documents that were leaked iirc

Considering it’s sold like 12m copies so far, I don’t think it was that great a deal for Capcom, it’s the equivalent of 100,000 copies

What?

Surprised at Callisto’s reviews. It seems like third party publishers cannot afford delaying games to fix the issues. Visually looks neat.

What you mean by what? lol

Yeah the game looks nice but it doesn’t seem to be great outside of that, the idea of needing to melee enemies to uncover weak spots sounds lame imo

I mean you said that Monster Hunter sold 12m copies while being exclusive and yet you think it was not that great for Capcom?

It’s funny. The game lost hype because of its gameplay target. The Callisto Protocol became the most hyped December game. In hindsight, people looked at the wrong way. Can’t help but feel people refuse to admit they hyped the wrong game.

12m copies is amazing

Im saying Capcom should have been asking for FAR more than 6m to keep it exclusive to Nintendo but maybe they underestimated how well it was going to do
