I don’t see them moving the date, however what I want is consistency - you can’t arbitrary decide what game to include depending on the platform holder.
Advertising money is at it’s peak right before Christmas.
Then they need to admit they’re disingenuous and are not caring for the industry at all and are only in it for the revenue. Enough with the talking out of both sides of their mouth.

There is a kind of favoursim for games like GoW which I would say jury would have nominated even if it was just one day before the cut off date
The reason being, this jury is already anticipating GoW to be nominated way before it is even released
To review it, they are ready day and date and some might have reviewed it even before launch
What happened with FH5 and as Geoff explains that most of the jury members haven’t got the chance to review the game
Now this where the bais exsist actually
Jury members have time and resources to review a game like GoW in a certain time frame but can’t review the FH5 game in the same time frame for Goty potential
They did however nominated the game for other categories where it even own
So the game was not snubbed by not giving it the entry but how much time resources the jury wanted to put into its review for a Goty
The GOTY awards are meaningless. It literally doesn’t matter. It’s a show designed in it’s entirety to make money by being a long, tedious string of advertisements. You can’t claim to be a meaningful awards event and quickly breeze through a half dozen categories in the span of ten seconds. I tried watching last year and was so annoyed by the absurdity of it that I had to turn it off.
Geoff Keighly and anyone who contributes that marathon of nonsense can kindly go fuck themselves.

Ooh, maybe we can get home to change the name to The Revenue Awards or the Revvies for short. And the Revvies should have an award for best pixel.

And this is why Series S is a thing, if I was a parent and wanted to get my kid a new console for christmas I know which one i’d probably pick that is way more easier on the budget.

Regarding Game Awards and nominations, I’m also off the mind that it doesn’t matter. Even games that weren’t mentioned in any GOTY discussions will inevitably put out GOTY editions in 2023… can’t wait for Tiny Tina GOTY!

Even though they’re probably not making more DOOM anyway (good, give us something newer), you can’t narrow everything the games and the studio did down to Mic’s music, it was fantastic but it’s not everything that’s good in it, and is not so incredibly irreplaceable.
True that Geoff is not a member of the jury that pick up the nominees, but I’m pretty sure he can influence on some of them, remember Geoff is a snake, remember when he leak the price of the Xbox One X, just minutes before it started the Microsoft E3 showcase.

Didn’t Geoff last year admit there was a bias towards certain game types? That was cool of him at least.
Good on him, I’d guess, but I don’t trust Geoff, like I’d said, he is a snake that has no problem showing his bias for Sony and his admiration (love) to Kojima.

After all the delays and shit this has been through I really actually thought they had a date set in stone here. That they wouldn’t have announced it if they weren’t 100% sure.
With this it really remains to be seen how it turns out anyway. I hope it’s great.
