But seriously I totally agree that this Acti deal is becoming a bigger and bigger hindrance the longer it takes to close. They lost Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal and now From is in bed with Sony for good. 
It likely does stop them from other acquisitions but money hatting? What does MS even money hat, I thought we all accepted that they don’t do that, but even if they do, the process would be irrelevant to acquisitions 
It also doesn’t stop them from investing if they were to want that.

Dragons dogma is literally the perfect game to money hat for Xbox l. I will stand on that opinion.

Also, I’m sure media backlash has a reason for MS not to chase money hats, but I also think MS just don’t see that practice as good business anyway. If it was, they would money hat all the time regardless what idiots disguised as journalists say, they just don’t because they deem it not a worthy investment for their approach.

Can’t say im too bothered by the Kadowaka news, From only seem to care about making Souls games these days and personally they don’t do much for me
I wouldn’t expect a Dark Souls 4, Sekiro 2 or Elden Ring 2 to be exclusive but yeah, some new IP most likely will be or maybe they will just get them to make a Bloodborne 2
It’s expected to close before June, right? But there’s no guarantee it won’t take longer either. In the case that it gets denied, MS won’t give up so easily, I’m sure of that. But in the meantime they still can’t do anything in terms of further acquisitions. Let’s hope it does close before June, get this shit over with already.
Sony having exclusives with From that they fund as well is fine, we knew that was gonna happen but what if they were to make an Elden Ring 2, and make that a timed or full exclusive just for the sake of annoying Xbox, like they did with FF7R? That’s the shit I am fearing.

Just like with Discord, investments don’t change much for Xbox. Sony holding group has bunch of investments across various companies.

Sony was unable to get exclusive marketing and promotion in COD and failed to secure anything meaningful exclusivity for COD. I don’t see them getting something bigger.

Because if you are third party publisher, moneyhats do not benefit you as you are limiting the growth of IP.

I don’t think Xbox was ever investing into just partial ownership of companies and certainly not into a Japanese conglomerate like Kadokawa, even if this Acti stuff was not happening
Bandai Namco owns the Elden Ring IP. That is never going exclusive ever lmao

This was pulled from a new trailer posted on PS Twitter. I assume it’s only talking about PC.
FF7R was announced, by Sony, as PlayStation exclusive for 6 months too.
If anything I imagine it’ll be extended to 1 year, then EGS get 6 months to 1 year, then Steam and roll of the dice Xbox.
Meanwhile Sony will continue to moan that Microsoft are trying to take Call of Duty away from their gamers and charge whatever the fuck they want for hardware/software alike with impunity.

From 18 months on FFVII Remake to 6 on this one, paying for cancelling the PC version of a game for too long is getting really expensive i bet. We’ll see what happens with the Remake’s part 2, but im sure it won’t take over a year to release on PC after PS5.
For Xbox i wouldn’t expect this FFXVI in under 1-2 years, if it ends up releasing, MS’s console still will need 2-3 years to pick up and make it harder for Sony to pay against them i’d say.
I’m interested to see if FFXVI is gonna be EGS timed exclusive. There’s been a theory that since every game they moneyhatted was a Nomura involved game he’s been the one behind it, FFXVI is not him so we’ll find out.
The 6 months one was on the Intergrade, which actually took 6 months to release on PC.
For the 2020’s remake nothing specific was announced on a trailer, just play it first, but there was a 1 year exclusivity shown in the box, which got extended with the announcement of Intergrade, AFAIK.
