I have no idea, still the service’s first month. I would like to know if they still specify when games leave for that like with PSNow, I would like if it’s still the case so maybe MS could follow suit and specify when games would leave
But MS specifies that no? In their blogpost
Only two weeks before they leave. PSNow used to specify when games will leave when when they get added, for most additions at least from what I remember.
It’s really a mess no matter how much I read explaining it, it seems something you’d only fully grasp if you use it yourself for a time.
I don’t think this was known. Really wasn’t expecting a console port. This is pretty great!
Console players about to lose hundreds and hundreds of hours of their life with this game.
We love you too friend
Convenience will win.
Thanks for sharing Staffy.
This will sound quite dramatic but I think we are witnessing the beginning of the future of the game industry…accessibility and multiple entry points to play whatever you want (well in MS case anything the acquie for xbox :v) whenever you want with economic price entry points for all of that.
Not really, it’s pretty obvious where the industry is heading
Happened with music, happened with movies and tv shows, no reason games will be any different
Accessibility and ease of access will dominate in the next few years if cloud tech continues to improve at the rate it is now
Yeah, convenience always wins. No need to bring your cassettes with you. No need to bring your disks (or bigger disks) with you. No need the disk to play. No need copy music from PC to play. No need the device to play the game. In the future - “welcome to the game, player”
That certain someone is going to be having an early Christmas.
I felt something similar when I tried xCloud for the first time. I played a game up to a point on the console, then I played it on xCloud on my phone and continued where I left. It was so pixelated, and there was like half a second latency, but it didn’t stop me from feeling impressed, especially because I’m playing through a VPN and we have no local servers yet. I’m so bitter xCloud is still not supported where I live ugh
I think they have their first game leaving the new rebranded PlayStation Plus Extra, ShadowWarrior 3 on July 5th. They also have Syberia leaving PlayStation Plus Premium on July 19th.
Others on the soon to be toast list:
- Shadow Warrior 3 — 5 July 2022
- Syberia — 19 July 2022
- NBA 2K22 — 31st August 2022
- WRC 10 — 31st August 2022
- Red Dead Redemption — 17th October 2022
- Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare — 17th October 2022
It would be funny to see NBA 2K22 lasting longer on Xbox than there.
Where do they specify theses? It’s a great thing to specify that early but aren’t the games staying for very short periods or are they leftovers from PSNow?
Dunno, found it on some PS Website article. Think it was named Pull Square.
Cautiously optimistic about the UI and control on console.
