Definitely playing Deliver Us Mars (already got it pre-ordered). I really enjoyed the first game when it was on Game Pass. Interested in A Plague Tale: Requiem, but I still need to play the first game. I’ll maybe play Darktide if I’m bored. Stray is a definite play if it ever comes to Xbox.
PS Plus Extra and Premium, not normal PS Plus.
Hate that they combined the names lol
I highly recommend Plague Tale Innocence. One of the sleeper hits of 2019 and underrated in my opinion.
Got kinda tired of it and didn’t make it through, glad to see the sequel looks to have more (even if just a little) of a focus on action.
Yeah, I can see that but I was into the game right from the beginning. The way you get different items and upgrades throughout the chapters all fit in perfectly and I loved the puzzles in the game. Out of all the chapters, I only disliked one of them. All the rest were great and the ending final boss fight was better than I was expecting considering the type of game it is.
Requiem definitely seems to be more action combat focused which makes sense since Amicia is older where as in the first game, she’s just trying to survive and protect Hugo.
Yeah, I am just more of a “stealth is cool but if I get found I want to fight my way out not have to retry” kind of dude lol
I’m actually the same way. I’m not a fan of “instant fail stealth sections” but for Innocence, it makes sense because what is Amicia really going to do? She’s not fighting off multiple armored guys with weapons.
A game like The Order 1886 that had an instant fail stealth mission despite being cover based shooter and having guns was well, fucking stupid. This shit pisses me off but if it’s like Innocence where turning it into a combat section wouldn’t make any sense whatsoever, then I can let it go.
Oh ffs.
Not playing Dying Light 2 till they add dynamic resolution scaling to their engine.
So funny seeing many people being confused and surprised the new PS+ games will leave their libraries if it leaves the service. It seems many expected to be like the normal PS+ additions that you own as long as you’re subbed. The whole PS+ tiers thing is honestly confusing and I suspect it’s intentional. Confusopoly works.
That’s a weirdly specific reason. Doesn’t the game already has 60fps modes?
It has a 90-100fps mode at 1080p, a 4k mode at 30fps, and a balanced mode at something between 1080p and 1440p natively poorly upscaled to 4k at 60fps. I’d like them to implement DRS or improve the native resolution in balanced mode.
In September Kena release is one year ago. Hopefully it comes to xbox^^
Gotta love the secrecy of Sony’s timed exclusivity periods (lol), I’ll probably play this if it hits Game Pass.
Having said that if Kena exclusivity period is indeed one year we could see both Kena and Deathloop in September.
Requiem and Callisto for me, I’ll play Requiem via Game Pass and I’ll buy Callisto at day one. Evil West and Steel Rising look decent too but I’ll wait for a sale or Game Pass.
I assume his cloud game is based around this
The thing is, a while ago Kena’s developer addressed potential for more platforms (basically Xbox) but said nothing concrete and they would look into it later or something like that, maybe they’d do it for a Game Pass deal or something. It didn’t sound like there was an exclusivity deal in effect because with those deals the developer usually can’t talk about other platforms like that, even Deathloop for example haven’t said anything about releasing on other platforms yet.
What I’m saying is there might not even be a deal anymore, they have to figure the math for whether an Xbox port would be worth it for them or whether they even have the proper resources for it.
Kena is mediocre. Good graphics but not much else. If it wasn’t on ps5 no one would talk about it. Either way no one will miss it.
platforms
PS folks:
Is it though? Even PlayStation only has two studios in Japan (Polyphony and Asobi). Yes they are a Japanese company but I think the main reason Japanese devs skip Xbox is market share.
Do they develop for 136 million PlayStation’s (116 PS4 & 20 PS5), or do they develop for 65 million Xbox (50 Xbone & 15 Series)?
When you then consider only a small % of those numbers will then buy your games it hardly seems worthwhile developing for Xbox right now.
The main issue is market share, the X360 sold really well and had fantastic Japanese support (including multiple Japanese exclusives!). The quickest way to grow your market share is appealing to the most people at once and that involves purchasing IP with the biggest player bases.
I think we are far more likely to see Xbox acquire EA, TakeTwo or Ubisoft before a Japanese publisher (although I personally want SEGA).
The Asian market is already growing for Xbox, it was dead last generation but the Xbox Series is now much closer to PS5 by selling 20K compared to 23K. Part of that is likely due to the smaller Series S, however I suspect that the number of valuable IP’s in GamePass is playing the biggest part!
