Maybe or maybe not, but customers have a breaking point and Microsoft need to play this very smart, they should do a small price cut from both models around the holidays and advertised the hell out of it, imo

Its lower budget and yeah game is being a bit overhyped but no doubt its going to be a fun experience.
I remember some people on this site and twitter that immediately came to MS defence when they raised the Xbox live gold price.
If the vocal people didnât speak up, who knows if they would of reverse the decision or not. Iâm thankful that the Xbox community didnât go out quietly when that happened. I hope it continues in the future.

The xbox gold price hike was stupid because of how abysmal gold was for many years. If they increased gamepass price the backlash wouldnt be as heavy and people wpuld accept it like they do with other services. Ms immediately backtracked because they did it at a bad time.
Ms could get away with increasing gamepass price now by offering discounted yearly sub. Sony are offering a worse service for 18 bucks a month but offer 120 yearly sub. Increase GP to match premium 18 bucks and do a 150 a year. Dont price match because business wise would eb stupid when your service is growing faster and is vastly superior.
Anyway sony will get lauded as usual. But a bit cowardly to offset costs to your overseas consumers who alresdy pay a premium compared to US.
Games are obscenely overpiced in UK for ps5. 70 fucking pounds. 70 quid is over 80 bucks.
Im from UK i only recently moved to US but i wouldnt go neat a ps5 back home id just borrow the system from my xousin twice a year to play the handful of games i want.
The issue isnt increasing the price. Youre increasing the price for your most loyal consumers and basically taking advantage of your dominant markets.
Cowardly pathetic and arrogant. Sums sony up for decades now. Shame such great devs work for this trash company.

$800 console with $125 games here in Australia, fun.
To put this in perspective you can get the Series X for $749 with game pass $15.95 a month or a Series S for as little as $399 on sale sometimes and $15.95 game pass.
