Shame then it means that Xbox is not doing that competitively with Playstation there. Or maybe because the outcry in those regions will be much smaller than in USA.
They upped the price in Canada, I think Xbox is similar to USA in terms of competitiveness over here.

is a post release current-gen console price increase unprecedented? i mean, there was an article on ArsTechnica just last week that the Switch price staying the same for five years, and it doesnāt speak about price increases
most consoles drop in price after 18 months, not increase

Nintendo rarely drops in anything including their games.
Whilst I agree on games, all their consoles have had some sort of price drop - notably, the 3DS only four months in. The Switch has had no reason to drop, as itās selling gangbusters! 
Does anyone know how long this show is? IGN says itās 5 hours long but thatās surely wrong, no?

That would be crazy, I mean itās several games but canāt possibly be 5 hours. Iām not gonna watch it probably, the games Iām interested in like Lies of P and High on Life have had plenty of gameplay already by now thanks to IGN and such.
If Xbox consoles price remain the same, that will make Sony look bad. They better hope Xbox announce it soon. Hell, Iām still wondering if the gamesā price are going to increase, so Iām waiting for Starfield preorder to emerge.
this is a lot like Nintendoās Treehouse presentations, so yeah it makes sense. itās not a showcase, itās a live stream of games being played and talked about.

The difference is that I donāt see anybody complaining about PS price increase on Twitter enmasse. Nintendo would also get a pass.
Only Microsoft would get a backlash. We would have podcasters, media and various other folks running around how evil Microsoft is.
