More showcases

It could be possible they cut their showcase in two parts, one on first party stuff and the other one with 3rd parties.

I think that would make sense, and then they can say " hey, this is only 20 minutes and it’s only first party’ and they can keep it lean, quick and not let the hype wade during it.

On the other hand, it could be possible that these are all separate announcements, with a SOP only focused on one game for example. Stuff like the DualSense Pro doesn’t really need a showcase, a tweet is enough.

I wonder what has the better metrics, letting a showcase be an event and getting all your eyes on everything at once or to drip feed. I guess with drip feed you can have the conversation be about you for weeks while a showcase will have the conversation be about you for a short amount of time but the conversation is loud.

I’d rather have one showcase tbh but I see the pro’s to both.

Yeah, they could go either way, making a SOP around GOW and some other smaller updates is possible, having a bigger one ( 30 minutes ) is possible as well, or maybe nothing at all.

Maybe 3rd party, first party, indies?

It would be doubtful for 3rd parties, they already did it with FF XVI, Callisto Protocol, SF6 and Resident Evil 4 Remake. Even FF VIIR Part 2 as been announced.

Oh no I meant their time line,

so they’ve had 3rd party, then a SoP for first party, and then one for indies on their platform.

Oh, yes it is possible, would be great to see Platform X emphasizing indies for once.

They had Bugsnaxx and a pixar game last year, I’m sure they’ll need to sit down and catch their breath. Bless their cotton socks.

Don’t think SOP is necessary for a new hardware announcements, Playstation like to share these stuff on their social pages, but there is always a chance for a small SOP episode.

Personally I think Playstation will drop one big show between July to Sept.

Question remains when Nintendo has a normal Direct with more than just one game.

I think SOP will be for GOW

Don’t give two shits about the controller but give me the God of War Ragnarok release date. Hoping for November 11th or 18th so I have time to play through Gotham Knights. Thursday will be the Focus showcase which will include the release date for Requiem so if Sony announces the release date for GOWR next week, all im waiting on is freaking Ubisoft to announce the date for Avatar.

My 2022 ten game lineup is slowly but surely starting to finalize -

  1. Dying Light 2: Stay Human
  2. Horizon II: Forbidden West
  3. Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands
  4. Steel Rising
  5. Evil West
  6. Gotham Knights
  7. The Callisto Protocol
  8. A Plague Tale Requiem (TBA)
  9. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora (TBA)
  10. God of War Ragnarok (TBA)

TBA = Waiting for the release date to be announced.

Probably but Ubisoft did announce the Immortals Fenyx Rising December 2020 release date at their September 2020 Ubisoft Forward event so there’s still a chance it releases this year but if not, I have a few backup games. Hehehe.

It’s about the only AAA game I would be looking forward to the rest of this year lol
