Its tricky I’ve been blessed by being able to own all consoles since I was young. However, for many it doesn’t make financial sense to get multiple consoles, so I don’t think its something to rag others on. I think being able to get into multiple ecosystems has fueled the console wars imo.
Yeah, it’s a fantastic game. The spare horse to carry pelts is a classic, great stuff. You are making me want to go back to the game… I’m trying to hold out for a current-gen upgrade, but I guess that’s not happening.
Yeah it’s taking quite a long time. A patch could have been done by a part of the team by now, I mean they are how many hundred strong? But this is definitely going to be a brand new game like the GTA 5 remaster for maybe 40 bucks or so and then after a month or two full price. The question is when, will that be after GTA 6? I guess they don’t see the need for it.
Wish they were like CDPR, The Coalition, Ubi and all the others that released a free patch. But I gotta say, kudos to Rockstar for their implementation of the framerate, their 30fps feels so super smooth it’s a world of difference with AC Valhalla for example. The other day I came from a 60fps game and I thought going back to RDR2 would be jarring, nope.

Yeah, they will probably charge too much for it. But this is one time I will bite though… Best game ever. I’m a bit sad we never got any DLC for it though, would have loved something like an expansion where we follow Sadie after the main story.

Yeah, I am afraid we’ve seen the very last of Rockstar game expansions when Undead Nightmare came out for RDR, damn.
First let’s see what GTA 6 is gonna be all about. Those rumors about a always evolving world like Fortnite (for the SP) is something I don’t know how to feel about. Why didn’t they compare it to RDR2 itself? And the rumors about how they had to go back to the drawing board (but who knows, maybe they did for their previous games too) and in the end it’s just talk, nothing official.

Funny enough I’ve never cared much for GTA… I haven’t even played V, even though I have it in the backlog (of course I do…).

I have all 3 current generation consoles. I find people online often equate being critical with console wars but truthfully I’m most happy when I meet others with all three consoles because I can relate to them more. Also I’m 39 and a lifelong gamer so there is a certain wisdom of age having experienced every console since the 80’s to now. Then you see PlayStation cult people that talk about the PS4 generation as if it’s the template for all future generations and you begin to understand why they get so many things wrong because their perspectives are too skewed towards only 1 generation that is already 2 years gone by now.
Truthfully as a parent of an elementary student I can tell you these new kids don’t really like PlayStation. They like Fortnite(not on iPad), Roblox (not on PlayStation) Minecraft (an Xbox property) and Nintendo. I tried really hard to get my kid excited about PS5 and he honestly doesn’t care and none of his peers seem to rep PlayStation shirts at school. This generation will be different from the last.

Overall I find RDR and the stuff I’ve seen of 2 so far vastly better written than GTA V. It’s just on another level.

It is not. Because aside games per se, platform holders provide other features. Nintendo gives portability and a lot of interesting games, Playstation provides high game prices and Xbox provides best ecosystem, PC and Game Pass.

Its just like brand association. Xbox does the most things that I believe in and Playstation treats their customers like scum, so I want Xbox to be the dominant console.
