XboxEra Community Hangout |OT8| Waiting for E3 2023

Are cloud saves offline at the moment? Or is there a problem with Xbox Live? I’m trying to play Lost Odyssey. I launch the game and it automatically signs me in to my Xbox live profile with the usual 360-era pop up. But then I get a huge full-screen message saying: “The storage device containing the active gamer profile has been disconnected. Reconnect the storage device and select the device again. Achievements will not be unlocked unless the storage device is connected.”

I can ignore the message and load a game from my cloud saves (it says the cloud saves are offline, I don’t know if this is normal) but when the game starts, I get the same huge full-screen message every single time I move to a different area/screen.

Tried a bunch of other 360 games and they’re all working fine, so I have no idea what the issue is or how to solve it.

Was looking over the upcoming releases and noticed Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition releases June 23rd. I’m surprised there hasn’t been any sort of advertising for this at all.

The one from years and years ago? This on Xbox too?

It was listed here with a long list of enhancements:

Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition is a faithful restoration of the classic adventure game featuring:

  • Reconstruction and upressing of original Westwood VQA Videos
  • Cinematic Video frame rates updated from 15fps to 60fps
  • Modern HD Display
  • Enhanced “Knowledge Integration Assistant" (KIA) and clue user interface
  • Enhanced Subtitle support
  • Modern gamepad support
  • SMAA Anti Aliasing
  • Anisotropic texture filtering

Very cool! I love adventure games of old but back then I just was too young to understand a thing of it, lol.

Haha yeah you need to think of it as in irl, running around is burning fat. I don’t remember exactly how long it took, but I got him very fat, it was fun.

I don’t think Nightdive really advertise anything unless it’s related to System Shock. The only thing i’ve seen for Blade Runner is Limited Run advertising their physical copies.

From an article I read the digital version (At least on Switch) is priced at $10. Really not bad of a price.

Xbox 2 pod was funny this week, as soon as Parris left they all went super console war mode

:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Wished Jez was there

Yeah, I think they needed an adult in the room lol.

Making fun of people for not being able to afford 2 eco systems is quite a take.

Yikes :grimacing:

Well, to be fair PS folks always tell that to Xbox users so…And they always took pride in having PC (thus they did not need Xbox in the first place) :joy:

That’s why I like ILP, that console war energy :fire: The chat there is crazy. And to be honest, Xbox community has got tired of being dunked at.

But was surprised to see Xbox Two without Jez.

Yeah I get it, I think the 16 year old me would of found it entertaining af.

The older version of me just finds it exhausting lol.

It’s a good thing the xbox community has a diverse range of podcasts for each tastes.

Was rather childish. Thats why i only listen to Xbox Two, Colts and Ironlord podcast is just too much.

I don’t really engage in the system war stuff but don’t mind hearing it for comedic reasons. You can tell when people are really serious and when they are just talking sh*t

Gaming is a serious business :fire:

Console warring at least allow to destroy some narrative as online discourse regarding Xbox is pretty one-sided.

telling them to taste their own “dude just get a PS4 slim it’s already cheap enough to play (insert a PS exclusive here)” medicine they’ve been saying for years. suddenly it’s not a fair play.

In those ways it really went back to San Andreas. I loved those features back then, that game truly was ahead of its time and after IV didn’t have it I hoped V would have it again but Rockstar said it didn’t make sense for any of the three guys to have that feature. I disagree. I find those features fantastic.

I’ve started to really treat the game as real life now, sort of. After having travelled big distances on horse I set up camp and eat and sleep. The next day I do this again. It immerses me even more into this world.

By the way, I noticed how my temporary horse follows me when I am close to it even if I am already on horseback. Ideal for when I go on hunting, I basically have a second pelt and carcass carrier.

It seems like even though Xbox as a brand may have evolved past having the stigma of being the brand for puerile adolescent personality types, many in the fandom haven’t followed suit.

What? At this point on Xbox is concerned regarding how its fandom looks outside.
