XboxEra Community Hangout |OT7| Define "AAAA"

The problem is that for core community, they wanted stuff like Stafield, Persona announcements for the whole conference…Granted, maybe if they changed the order (like moved Starfield in the middle) it would have a better pacing.

I mean I saw cores complaining about Riot Games announcement. I saw people complaining about Starfield frame-rate. Then I watched reactions from other folks and nobody cared and was discussing settement system and so on.

And we should be happy they aren’t forcing these studios to show them off like they did in the past with Fable, Everwild, State of Decay and so on because we will be in the same position in a couple years time asking where X game is.

Plus with so many people giving different points of view there’s going to be a part of the community that is “ignored” and another part that is “listened to”. There’s been people saying for years we need less CG trailers and less content that is years away and here we are - we got a show primarily focused on gameplay and content we can play in the next year.

Yep, it’s a bummer but they’re doing the right thing.

I feel like they should try maybe have 1 big shock announcement at each show of a new game that is far out, that might help those who feel the need for that sort of thing.

It’s not console wars or list wars to want to see your most anticipated game at a showcase show.

A day before the show, 90% of the people in here were extremely excited to see Avowed. Is it list or console wars to be disappointed that it wasn’t at the show ? Of course not. It sucks big time that we didn’t get to see it but … at the same time you gotta be understanding of the current situation going on in the world and MS’s choice of showing games coming within the next 12 months.

This. As if Microsoft is happy with their lineup for 2022. So to please their core community they have to stop quality control, crunch their devs to a 2022 deadline and oh, fix the war in Ukraine. Mhmmm.

You mean like a game from a legendary game designer from Japan?

Yeah

and a lot of the people who are buying those consoles now are doing it because they know those big core games are on the way

I don’t know if you play on Switch or follow the Nintendo community closely but that is not a very accurate picture of Nintendos fanbase. They also had their disappointing Directs, painful delays, dry years or way to early announced games with CGI trailers logos. And they were also vocal about their disappointment.

I’m still waiting for Pikmin 4

Give Cyber Sleuth too ! And port Digimon World PS1 as well. As a kid I was too stupid to let my Digimon develope into anything except those feces loving Digimon. :upside_down_face:

Yeah, I think it’s perfectly reasonable to be disappointed that we didn’t get to see certain games. It was also completely avoidable had Xbox communicated their 12 month focus beforehand.

That doesn’t mean that we don´t understand the reasons behind that descision, or why games are a bit further out.

Yeah. I mean literally their studio reorganization and acquisitions between 2018 to Bethesda were really mostly about that. XGS and Bethesda’s output will be mostly about those big action, RPG, shooter, open worlds, etc experiences. The real enemy is time, their timeline wasn’t the best, say they started those investments in 2016 and we would have had ouptut cadence by now, but alas they didn’t until 2018. It’s unfortunate, and disappointing, but concluding that It’s because they don’t care, aren’t capable, or there’s mismanagement, is baseless panicking that’s also probably overblown due to to Twitter and clickbaity unprofessional journalism.

People were so adamant they wanted gameplay focus and no CGI. Xbox complies. People complained about too much cgi , none at the show. They bitched about showing games too far off, so they show only what’s coming in the next 12 months. Now people are bitching about Avowed and HellBlade not showing up, lol!

I would argue that maybe the "core community " doesn’t really know what they want. Maybe they should’nt bend to every complaint they have and just put in the type of show they feel works for them.

No, they know what they want - they want bangers to engage into twitter wars with Playstation folks. Also, bring more japanese games :joy:
