For those that really look forward to High on Life, the same studio also made this game for Xbox One two years ago. I’m gonna look into it.
Starfield needs all the time it needs to fix the bugs.
Even when they are now under Xbox umbrella I don’t expect a bugless game, hell, very few games nowadays are at launch. I probably was in the minority with very few bugs in Skyrim, Fallout 3 and 4. Had more issues with Oblivion and Fallout New Vegas.
Pete Hines said delaying a game is not something they take lightly, and I believe that, it hasn’t been since Oblivion I believe that they had to delay a game. So I truly hope they’ll manage to drop in June at the latest.
None of the characters in Redfall are “gen z”. Perhaps, the youngest character is a graduate student. Words have meaning, people.
Insurgency Sandstorm is very nicely priced now on Xbox and I been meaning to check it out and play it with my brother.
Anyone here that plays it on XSX as well? Is it worth it now? At release there were issues, but it’s been several months now. Also it is actually XSX optimized now?
Playing upgraded games on PS5 is the most frustrating thing. I think there is some SKU issue with their system and its crazy they never sorted that out yet
I find it kinda fascinating that Xbox & Microsoft ignores everything core community wants and still come out on top
- “we need system sellers” → no a single system seller or big game, yet winning market share across the world and surpassed xbox one in japan within 2 years
- “show was garbage, no Avowed” → most viewable Xbox show, A rating on twitter voting and general consumer is happy
Granted COVID and shortages play their role and “nobody” plays Overwatch, Minecraft, Grounded and so on, but still funny
Is Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes confirmed for the next 12 months? I don’t remember seeing it in the showcase.
They wanted gameplay of stuff coming soon and got it
Well, now they want stuff is not coming any time soon It all boils down to list wars essentially.
It really highlights a lot of things doesn’t it, what some might think or see could probably be so far from what is the actual general thoughts are. Even when so many people with big communities talk badly about it or even the hardcore talk badly about it, in the end it’s still a minority sometimes.
Just look at Xbox selling out still with almost no big AAA games, game pass has completely shifted everything for Xbox and it looks like they don’t need huge big titles to get people to buy their console and make them happy. Now don’t get me wrong I want big games and all that but I am myself happy with what I get to play on Xbox now even with almost zero 1st party exclusives.
It makes so much sense why the focus on it so much now because it is the best Xbox exclusive they have and I’m starting to really think Microsoft has most likely changed their minds about wanting it on the other consoles because of this, no doubt in the past they probably wanted it on PS5/Switch but I think they see what it’s doing to Xbox sales and are thinking wait a minute people are buying our console for this service maybe we shouldn’t put it on there.
And I think some are worried about this, they could be worried MS could build a huge and wildly successful platform without focus on their core AAA needs, because for the longest time they convinced themselves that they’re the most important community that MS need to cater to. But those are just worries and kind of panic because we still aren’t seeling Avowed, Hellblade, Fable, Perfect Dark etc release. And I get it, the proof is in the pudding and it’s fair to say that that part core community still hasn’t seen the full proof. I trust it myself, I trust the process and XGS will be releasing that content in quantity and quality, but those people will only be convinced with proof when those games show and release consistently.
Some will say that it’s semantics, but it is the hardcore community, not the core community. The core community are the people happily playing Minecraft and Sea of Thieves and the other big games, while the hardcore are the ones who are still on that hyperbolic, “Xbox needs these kinds of games or they’re doomed” spiel.
People can say what ever they want, but there is definitely a console war mentality still left in a lot of the hardcore community.
Xbox is essentially becoming two faceted. Basically due to Game Pass (which encompasses PC & mobile & Xbox), Xbox is being enriched by the folks from other communities. Those communities are blending with Xbox community. And it is ironically splinters Xbox community into the two groups.
- Playstation-like walled community - the one that wants high fidelity graphics, 60fps, “Playstation - but Xbox” and engaged in list wars with a certain level of entitlement. “Who plays Grounded, Minecraft?” “Riot games deal? Who cares about that?”
- Nintendo like generic community - happy go lucky folks that watch conference to see the stuff they are interested in (Minecraft, Diablo, COD in the future) and does not care about other stuff but just pick up interesting thing from the conference, don’t care if it comes or not comes to the platform, don’t care about frames per second and so on.
ABK acquisition enriched general Xbox community, but it created that weird situation. I think Microsoft should pivot from labeling their showcases as Xbox Showcases. I understand that they lean into this well known consumer friendly label, but I believe on a long run Game Pass will supersede Xbox and will be the main consumer brand from Microsoft going forward as Xbox Showcase does not represent Game Pass community anymore.
It also does not help that media is always trying to find away to dunk at Xbox one way or another with stuff like Starfield is just ugly No Man’s Sky and so on.
P.S. Just wait when they will start announcing mobile games on their shows After all if it will also part of Game Pass.
hehe I play SOT
I don’t think Microsoft is ignoring the core community, that makes it sound like a choice. They are not choosing to not have big games available.
The big games are already coming. Last one was Halo next is Forza/Redfall, then Starfield and so on…
This. They were simply not ready to show those games off.
