Big, older 3rd party games have been cycling in and out of both MS’s and Sony’s services for years. This really isn’t anything new and it certainly isn’t anything to be worried over in my opinion.
I really wish people would stop running around getting worried/scared every time Sony does something.
When Game Pass launched, no it didn’t have much big games. But when it launched gaming subscription services were not nearly as big as they are now (thanks to Game Pass). So the standards have changed drastically.
If new PS+ launched today with the same “standards” as the original Game Pass launch then it would be laughed out of the room
Unless I am misremembering things I’ve been noticing that older AAA games (with exceptions like GOTG, Hitman trilogy, ME LE) used to happen more often in the previous years and overall seem to be decreasing a little. We talked about this in the GP thread too, more people feel like this has been happening.
So now with Sony entering the game, kind of, we just hope they won’t pull out their money hat game too much while Xbox misses out. We’ll just have to wait and see. Like someone said today, competition is good, so it should only amount to good news.
We’ll see what happens, but I don’t get the sense that older AAA games coming to the service has decreased. If it has, it’s because there’s been more newer titles like GOTG, MLB The Show (Day one no less) and ME LE coming, which one would believe was a better deal, yes?
I mean, they put the entirety of the Yakuza series on Gamepass last year and everyone just shrugged their shoulders for the most part. Also, getting every EA game a year later is also largely ignored. I think people are just seeing this issue through the lens they want to (maybe myself included). Either way, I’m not worried about the service, and I honestly don’t understand how MS isn’t being given the benefit of doubt on this issue.
Also, I think some of you are addicted to being worried about things. Sorry if that sounds patronizing, but it feels like everyday there’s something new to be upset or worried about. Some of you should perform an experiment where you take a month off from obsessively following the news and reading “takes” and be amazed at how much better you feel about things.
Yes, our entire discussion was about third party content. But suddenly the goalposts shifted (ironic…) to first party studios and acquisitions, as if that was even what was talked about. People really have a hard time separating things here. Xbox can be aggressive af in one area, and not so much in another. But apparently discussing that is doom posting and dreadful.
Hm I really don’t see much of that at all here anymore. A lot of the usual suspects are no longer here after all. But if you think that any discussion about things is because someone is worried or upset, I don’t know… maybe it is your lens that need adjusting?
For what it’s worth I’m neither worried, upset or dooming. I am however a bit annoyed at the way some people here clump everyone together as soon as it’s not all rainbows and unicorn posts. It’s weirdly defensive.
I get that. It’s often way too easy to infer meaning and context to a post when there isn’t any. It definitely goes both ways as not everyone is simply being defensive.
I feel like my “experiment” idea is a valid one though for everyone. I ignored all this nonsense from 2013-2019 and I’ve never been happier as a gamer.
Momentum always change, it is not the first time and it is not gonna be the last, once Xbox will in the news, and the next Sony or whoever else. It just the way things work. As for the PS Plus stuff, it is certainly better with Ubisoft Classics, but there is still a lot left for them to get to Game Pass level. The price is still a bit too expensive.
Reminded me of X-Men but way more fucked up and violent. I do wonder what that ending was all about. June 15 is the sequel in South Korea. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long. I’d love for this to land in the cinemas.
Yeah, no I still don’t see the problem with pointing out that Sony has been more aggressive in the third party sphere and discussing this and what it might mean for a subscription based competition.
If you think that is doomposting, then I’m sorry but I cannot take you seriously.
