How you can be so sure about that? What if it gets to the point where a timed exclusivity could cost them, lets say, 50 millions (throwing random numbers but apparently these deals are not that expensive). There will be a point where it just isn’t viable to keep throwing millions and millions of dollars to keep preventing games form other platforms while your main competitor is building a self sustainable ecosystem.
They can’t buy publishers left and right.
Xbox in-house development already has about 60 games that will be released in their subscription.
Something will have to be done about this.
And apparently, they just want to stuff their main studios with a lot of money.
Games-services will help this, in part.
And also buy third-party exclusivity.
Well, it is to be expected that Sony will try to moneyhat everything. Microsoft does not do that so we can only rely on the first parties and acquisitions.
Microsoft acquires to get more IPs, developers and content for their platform. Considering Sony’s continuous moneyhats they should acquire more in order not to lose the content.
Yeah, Sony and their moneyhats, they do love them. But these are from a while ago. I’m hoping with MS acquiring ABK things like these will start to slow down.
Sure, but they will acquire the studios with the content that make sense to them and help them to achieve their vision. They are not going to acquire a studio just to denied Sony that content.
