They would have to reuse assets of GoW 1, GoW2, GoW3 no?

Epic said that its depends on the modifications studios did to their UE4 game . If its vanilla then its fast af . More modifications = more time/work to transfer from UE4 to 5 .

This looks pretty interesting, not too far off from XSS in specs

Not if they were updating them for the Gears 5 engine already. Have a look at what the Gears 5 Operation Drops added over the years for Multiplayer models. There’s a reason why a lot of them were from the earlier series. :smirk:

This is something a few of us noticed back in 2020. We suspected a Gears remaster back then.

Insider viewed an internal company poll from Microsoft this year, which cited 66% of employees answering favorably about whether they are getting a “good deal” at the company. This is about 7% lower compared to last year, but the employee survey was changed around this year so the results were expected to be different.

One of the largest companies that Microsoft is competing with for talent is Amazon. And Amazon has been making aggressive moves to hire and retain talent.

Seeing has this has more to do with competing with amazon I assume the MS gaming division will not benefit from this.

Considering that Micorosft gaming division is essentially a set of independent companies - probably not.

Maybe not to the same degree of Amazon’s offering, but competition in the gaming sector is just as high nowaday and I would expect some restructuring of compensation offerings for their first party studios.

I think Fable should be the series getting a remaster collection, not Gears :frowning:

But being able to disable the shaky camera from the original Gears trilogy will be great, I can’t play Gears 3 without getting a massive headache

And nor should they. Fuck apple.

Remake, lol OK.

And multiple other projects. I guess we’ll see whenever the hell that happens then. Nothing to get excited about.

Silent Hill 2 is one of the best examples of “games as art” I can think of and I sincerely doubt Bloober of all devs is up to the task of recreating that.

I’d be happy to be proven wrong but we’ll see.

Makes sense. Medium was similar to old Silent Hill games.

Sony is seriously going after each and every “enthusiast” IP for exclusivity - Silent Hill, KOTOR, Final Fantasy. No doubt they would try to get TES in the future too (granted won’t happen anymore)

Considering that Microsoft is not into, they should acquire acquire and acquire

Similar to my thinking as well. The changes that Blooper will inevitably make will be under the microscope by the game’s fans.

So it seems that for now we can write off Kojima for SH.

Silent Hill games have their fanbase, but it’s not a mainstream title. Microsoft should focus on their own road map and acquire studios that make sense to them. IMO!

You also forgot that most if not all of these cases where under different market conditions. If those SH rumors are to be believed, which apparently it started development in 2019-2020 and checks calendar… yeah, xbox wasn’t doing hot at the time.

Yup and when the game is release, fans of the series are going to be very mad, because Bloober tried new things and not stick with the original formula that made the game “special”, you can bet on that.
