XboxEra Community Hangout |OT7| Define "AAAA"

Don’t be surprised if it ends up eventually comes out for xbox one and ps4 if this does not meet “expectations”. Already saw companies before say this exact same thing just to release a current gen version 6 months later

“AAA” is interesting. Strategy games generally aren’t AAA

I wouldn’t really put a limit on what a genre can be AAA wise, remember it’s all about budget and scope any game can be AAA. I do get what you mean though as it’s more of a niche type thing, I hope it’s good as I do love me some strategy games!

Yeah, noticed how visually the reveal gameplay definitely looked better overall. And those combat bits of Batgirl looked better too.

I mean yeah I also mean the budget. Strategy games aren’t really expensive to and their team is small according to them. I’m probably reading too much into it. Could just be things they say for hiring purposes lol.

It’s in the title AAAA :joy: I do think they’ll hype it up, maybe if they don’t say AAA devs might think it’s a smaller game so these studios need to make sure they understand it’s not a small thing.

This guy is wrong so much even on his show. One time he was talking about an industry I worked in and I’m like 90% of this is wrong. That’s when I stopped watching him

Movie gotta be good when Kojima gives a review like this if you’re familiar with his movie reviews :sob:

The funny thing is how is Game Pass going to suddenly make all games in the industry go away… like the main games people play are on Mobile and are free to play on console and PC. I don’t even think it’s possible to have a monopoly in the gaming industry, just look at Stardew Valley, they sold something like 20m-30m copies and were indie.

I ain’t ever see him give one like this

As someone is pro offiline, let’s be real, the reason why Xbox Online DRM nearly killed the brand is because it was at the wrong time, you think not just from the consumer side but also the market side when you have a broad look over the years.

Sony was also trying to do it and it changed the idea when Microsoft gave the first shot and took all the bullets, as accurate rumors of their hardwares indicated that they would come with cameras and online DRM. The big industry developers hates used games because they don’t profit from it, if you think about it, when Valve curbed piracy on PC with sales, it also killed off used games on it because Steam associates the game with your account and other companies followed suit on the platform.

The DRM at the time went wrong because companies couldn’t even handle the servers properly, Diablo 3 a such case where everything was synchronized and thus console players got it better. Nowadays even your complaints about rural places in most countries or developing countries big markets having a bad internet are now mostly a thing of the past, for the urban places, they have been on internet 24/7 for 15+ years, which is why the industry tought it was doable because most of their consumers are located there and had a significant share (if not majority) of the PS3 and 360s connected constantly, so they foresaw that the next generation would have almost all to all consoles connected regardless, but didn’t expect the backlash.

On the issues to run the games, Microsoft needs to patch the OS to have it run as offline whenever there’s no connection, rather than players have to find out to put manually on the system configs. And remember, have the stuff on your main profile and stuff, secondary profiles will always be checked no matter the system.

So the Eiyuden Chronicle prequel game isn’t so hot huh?

Hopefully the main game turns out good. Ultimately I never had too much hype for it though because Kickstarter games, especially ones made by “former x talent” almost always underwhelm. I think Bloodstained is the only one that pulled it off for me.

That’s a shame, I was looking forward to it. Still gonna try it of course, but it’s a bit of a bummer to hear ahead of time! And yeah, I think Bloodstained did a good job of aping both Castlevania styles well.

The fact that it’s Kojima saying it makes me doubt/question it even more, actually

His taste of what makes something good and mine are MILES apart

Very very very cool. I hope they aren’t outrageously priced, though.

Gotta say, I’m actually way more looking forward to this game now than I was prior. Mainly because I guess I didn’t fully understand what kind of a game this going to be

I know plenty of people hate looters, and co-op focused games. But that ain’t me. I have come to realize that it is easily one of my favorite genre of game. And the more the better. Destiny, Division, Borderlands, Diablo, this game, Suicide Squad, Red Fall. I am way in to this sort of game

And hey again, I know many of you aren’t. I just selfishly don’t give a shit . There are plenty of genre’s I’m not in to, including some I used to love like fighting games, racing games, sports games etc. that honetly bore me to tears now. This sort of game, multiplayer FPS’s and Western RPG’s has taken over for me now. And this looks like it could be a damn good one
