XboxEra Community Hangout |OT6| New Year, Same Three Topics

It probably got canceled. I feel it’s a pretty big announcement to leave in a linkden profile

Human Head have worked on all kinds of different genres and types of games. Most were also PC-oriented.

Oh don’t get me wrong, I meant to say that if it’s true that Zenimax forced them to do so. And if that’s true I bet this was pre acquisition.

Whatever studio it is, I personally hope it’s not one of those that are known for making top quality SP games. But I don’t think that’s it.

I have lots of playtime in Halo Wars 1/2, Age of Empire, StarCraft and Civilization.

It’s funny that you assume this bullshit at the same moment you call people out, for assuming bullshit.

At this point we don’t even know which studio.

This is… not good

And yet you still jumped to the “they were forced to make it” conclusion for whatever reason,

RTS is not what comes to mind when I think of a publisher forcing a studio to make a game.

Haven’t listened to the podcast yet though.

What’s the actual context?

Yeah, werid. If you’re gonna force something at least force something that’s closer to guaranteed to sell, and actually also serves the console lineup, not a genre that’s close to a niche that hasn’t evolved or grown much :sob::sob:

I used in my very first post the words IF and MIGHT.

I really don’t know what else to say to you.

It’s not like we have reports about the handling of HH/Roundhouse by Zenimax.

You choose to ignore the rest of the message, so I don’t think that conversation is going to really get anywhere.

Have a great Sunday

They Can Do It All!

What is it though? Some bug?

If and might still carry a lot of assumption.

Yes, and that was awful and weird. It still doesn’t make your assumption make any sense for the reasosn I listed. RTS OF ALL GENRES

You also ingored that HH made different kinds of games and were also most PC-oriented.

And you too

I had this happen so I can elaborate. It’s a bug that seems to randomly occur, it just completely cripple the game so it runs as if it were 10 frames per second (I don’t think it’s actually low frame rate - more that the game is juddering and getting stuck and feels as if it’s running at a low frame rate. For reference though, I had it happen on performance mode. So, quite a dip). I went for a few minutes with this issue as I wanted to finish what I was doing and go save, there didn’t seem to be any hope of it fixing itself on its own so I restarted the game and that sorted it. I talked to someone else who had the same issue and it happened to us after prolonged game sessions so I’d guess it were something tied to that - memory leak issue or something. Of the ten hours I’ve played I’ve only had this happen once though, I’ve had a few bugs and annoyances but it’s not been too bad. Maybe less polished than I’d have expected though.

Remember to always complete the frag:

Teabagging is a sign of respect.

Has anybody else played Sekiro?

I’ve been playing it for the last week and been having such a great time. But I’ve gotten to the end and have gotten a horrible reminder of just how archaic FROM’s design can be sometimes.

No spoilers, but I’ve essentially made a ‘decision’, which I don’t feel was entirely clear was right or wrong. This decision is irreversible, locks you out the final act of the game and puts up against a triple boss fight. Having now found this out I’m kinda just demotivated to finish it.

I’ve had such a great time but I don’t feel the game communicated the weight or the clarity of this decision with me. I would have to go into NG+ to get through to the normal ending.

I’m bummed out and honestly a bit pissed off, especially because this final boss has some bullshit moves and is an obnoxious triple fight (when I was already at the end of my tether with the amount of double life bars and ‘gotcha’ second life bosses).

Just wanted to vent

Back on that OW grind. :relieved:

Yeah you chose the Shura ending and it basically skips most of the late game because you essentially become the villain and kill everybody.

For old man Isshin, there are a few things to keep in mind. Whenever he’s standing/slowly walking sideways and waiting for your attack, it generally means he’s gonna do the sidestep and undercut when you attack, so anticipate and deflect it immediately after you try to attack. Next up is the setting the arena on fire. When he’s trying to do that, there’s a lot of time to stop that, so when he prepares the stance, just go near him and use firecrackers and it will break him out of that.

And remember to always dodge to the right of most of his other fire moves.

He can be pretty annoying and difficult for basically anyone playing him on the first run, but keep the above things in mind and you’ll come thru.

In my first run I saw that the decision would be something pivotal so I made a save file prior to the owl fight and then chose in case anything happened. This was on pc. No idea if that’s possible on consoles.

I think they wanted the decision to have some weight by cutting off so much of the game after by you becoming a monster essentially. If they told you it’d cut short the game you’d obviously not choose it. But yeah, could have communicated that better.

Do try playing another run, it sucks but imo the game is worth it, and has multiple endings for the same reason. Essentially there are four endings. There’s this one ie Shura ending which is the Bad ending and the main one is called Immortal Severance ending which is standard that most people get, you’ll face off the final boss much later and will have access to every single boss except one. That comes in the Purification ending, where you’ll get an optional fight with younger Owl. Then there’s the good ending (Dragon’s something) which has no gameplay difference, so same as Immortal Severence but a different ending narratively.
