Ryza was the first one I ever played. And I thought it was fine. Didn’t beat it, only got about 8 hrs in. It’s just another JRPG in the JRPG fodder graveyard. Not anywhere near as good as the lower end series such as Trails, Tales, Ni no Kuni, or even Valkyrie Chronicles. It’s just…. whatever, I’d rather Xbox invest in making there own or getting Trails and Persona on their platform instead of coercing Koei Tecmo to make a sub par game for them
Ryza is the only one I played too, and I found it alright. I actually hear in the Atelier community that Ryza is one of the weakest Ateliers… It just sold so well because of the “thicc” memes.
I don’t disagree with the idea that those other games would be preferable (although Xbox did see VC4 right?), but to call Atelier “low effort” seems odd just because it didn’t click with you. I love Studio Ghibli, but neither Ni No Kuni felt like fun games to me, and I would never say they were “low effort”. Trails though…Sky series is amazing and Cold Steel isn’t bad either! Don’t need to speak to Persona obviously

Pretty sure we’d all prefer Persona, but you know Atlus. Mainline Persona isn’t even on Nintendo Switch yet. They are wedded to the PlayStation brand and clearly have no interest in making money, expanding their brand or pleasing shareholders - they are an anomaly.
There’s no harm in Xbox targeting smaller JRPG-oriented studios/franchises that may be more open to having their games published on the platform. Continue to build an audience for the genre on Xbox and it can lead to bigger ports later.
Gust games would be a big boon as they have an exceedingly dedicated fanbase all of their own.

Well, this is confusing. Based on Martha is Dead fiasco, it turned out that maybe Sony Defense Force is lying about the censorship about a baby face being sliced off or something, rather it was a grown adult woman. I don’t know who to believe now, but I’ll tell you one thing, it is always funny that the game either becomes crap or amazing depending on the game’s stance on PS.

Yeah I’m thinking Elden Ring is going to be unmissable. I’ve never had interest in the souls games and even I’m getting it day 1. Pretty hyped for it.

The network test was anything but short and the land they let you explore was huge. I can only imagine how huge the whole map is, damn!
