It might not be a success, but exclusive Kojima’s game certainly attracted a lot of people to purchase Playstation and join Playstation ecosystem. We consider some things rather petty, but they do make sense.
I mean even funny commercials like “my car is fast, my BMW is faster” might be jokes, but they do create perception.
I always argue that Xbox needs more 3rd person games, yet people act that “no we need more FPS”. I mean, Xbox GameScom had more 1st games that ONL that has more 3rd person games.
As of now they are only trying to reach a better overall support, exclusives are a no go since years and years (their own studio over there is developing a PS exclusive, lol), so no, until I see something more (and not rumours), I’m not really sold on their japanese strategy, I’ve said multiple times and these are the facts, I won’t make victory laps for some years old port of DQ games or Yakuza games when Xbox still misses maaany franchises and concurrently has lost FF games for the gen to come. They need to act stronger, much stronger.
I wonder if we will hear Persona announcement for Xbox in September. If not, they I will only scratch my head.
Why September?
I don’t expect it and then I’ll call bullshit all the related rumours, I’m sorry, because when they would announce them otherwise? I will gladly admit I was wrong being negative, but I would not bet over it.
This comes from P.T era and Silent Hills with Junji, Kojima and Del Toro (or whoever). He said that he wanted to make the episodic horror games (and it makes sense if you are working with Junji). Then we learnt about cloud games (but Stadia is more of platform running on Linux rather than anything special. It is akin developing for Windows). So I just assumed that is that. Also I remember AGC said that “he won’t comment on Metal Gear rumour, but Kojima wanted to make a lot of small episodic games” so I just came to the conclusion that was that.
They have like 25th years anniversary event with several new projects to announce. For good case scenario for Xbox, what I expect - Persona collection coming to Game Pass (P4, P5 etc.), Persona 6 announced for PC,Xbox, Playstation. For bad scenario - P6 exclusive for Playstation (a lot of people believe that of course), Persona collection (doesn’t exist or only on Playstation), some games are coming to PC, Xbox gets P5 Strikers. And that’s it. .

Xbox gets nothing would be the usul thing as of last decade. Atlus dropped Xbox since 360 and never looked back. I wonder how badly and how many bridges they burned considering the difficulty to gather support, lol.
My mood regarding Xbox jumps depending on the weather or whatever. Sometimes I believe all the rumors, sometimes I don’t believe anything. But it is rather telling how after E3 all the leakers kinda stopped doing that. Guess, MS decided to pull the plug on the rumors. Which is probably a good thing.
We’ll see. Xbox relatively unlucky quite often and they tend to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
The best news for Xbox has always been either acquisitions or stuff related to the platform itself (backwards compatibility) rather than exclusive games 
It’s been like this for years. I mean look at Halo - even in shutdown mode meaning the game is complete - they couldn’t find a single piece of single player gameplay? If the game is completed you don’t even need a vertical slice…
Damage done by pivot to Kinect and then double downing during Xbox One will be with us for the next 3-4 years at least. Xbox literally had all the changes to be segaed in 2014. We narrowly escaped that.

FH5 looks better than anything under the sun, about Halo they are clearly terrified of showing anything after last year, anyway the game is solid if MP is an example of average quality. Moreover Xbox has announced more exclusived than PS and it won’t stop. Overall strategy is good, I’m criticising japanese strategy which is still very very slow.

I think the main problem is that people here are envisioning a situation where only one of the rumours can be true. We simply won’t know what Kojimmers is doing until something is announced. They could be negotiating for a new Death Stranding that is still years from entering full production whilst Kojima is making an Xbox game, or it’s the reverse with Kojima making a new Death stranding first. It wouldn’t even surprise me if he’s making two games at the same time seeing as MS has been hiring support staff for the cloud based games.

At the end of the day the game matters I reckon even if he chooses xbox or sony regardless of optics. Death Stranding didnt exactly seems to have pleased Sony because Im sure they expected something else game wise and more sales.
Which makes for a tricky dialogue regarding Death Stranding. Do yall think its a flop? Sony has never themselves acknowledged sale metrics for it despite them loving touting that horn and the game was said to have millions of unsold copies in shelves. Did Sony make the directors cut to pad its weak Q3-Q4 lineup of the PS5 or was it genuine?

This Kojima stuff is something I dont get. I mean, Kojima indeed is a great creator, but we are talking about what here? Metal Gear and Death Stranding? Because if it is, it doesn’t justify all the fuzz around this man, imo. I think his fame is mostly sustained by the nostalgia of early metal gear titles than anything else he created after that (which was not much tbh). As I said before, looks like he is more of a plataform trophy and a marketing guy than a creator that would be putting out good games consistently. Would be nice he develops something for Xbox, of course it would! but having him on board is that of big deal ppl talks about? Objectively speaking, I don’t think so.
