Iâm going to respectfully disagree that the moderation team doesnât allow discussion or is somehow trying to play enforcer. Iâd argue that this forum is the least oppressive when it comes to moderation, go look at any other forum and see how long the ban lists are.
This whole Indiana Jones thing isnât a one time thing. Itâs months upon months of the same small group worrying about exclusivity, or worrying about the image of Xbox, or worrying about what insignificant Twitter trolls or other forum members will think of Xbox.
Back in March when the Xbox/Bethesda deal was closing and Phil Spencer said âsome games will be exclusiveâ a majority of those same people completely derailed the forum by acting like children because Phil Spencer said âsomeâ.
A few weeks ago when it was revealed Quake would be multiplatform, the vocal minority once again attempted to completely derail the forum by complaining about a 25 year old game being on Playstation. This isnât new. Itâs a pattern of toxic behavior.
The moderation team all agree that basically anything about Xbox can be discussed. Criticism is welcomed. But when itâs shown that a few select members have a clear agenda to take over discussion with fanboy fueled discussions, itâs a problem. This one Indiana Jones discussion probably wasnât on the level of those other examples, but itâs just a symptom of a larger issue.

This wasnât nearly as bad as you guys seem to make and one of you made a mistake being disrespectful, thatâs all proven, itâs not rocket science.

I agree it wasnât âas badâ but it was heading toward the same outcome. If I or any of the moderation came off as disrespectful I apologize.

I felt something similar back a month ago.
It was like I wasnât alone in having the discussion which everyone wasnât liking. But at the end I was the only one called out by one mod for being a troll.
I donât think one person alone could ever derail a thread or something like that. There are other in the conversation as well. But simply being called out alone is disrespectful.
It is like the high school where the whole class was making noise in the class. But teacher only punished one student to set an example.
It is really disrespectful. Mods should simply put a separate message to ask for the said conversation to stop. It works most of the time. Or if they have too, quote everyone from the said conversation.
Note: this doesnât mean I think what you were discussing was wrong. But what happened was definitely wrong.

I see. It should be exclusive though. It is funny how Sony can have exclusive games, while Xbox canât or shouldnât have according to some people due to one reason or another. Personally I am not really sure what will MS do. You can never expect the best decision from them.

Which mods need to say âsorryâ? Iâm getting whiplash on people saying that others are âpetulant childrenâ and then weâre being disrespectful for trying to do our unpaid jobs in the most hands-off way imaginable? Which is it, now? I stand by every single thing I said and I have no plans to apologize for trying to help steer the conversation into a more positive place in the end.

Tbh Jez said Starfield was Crossgen. Not calling him out on it but someone is wrong once in a while
Jez track record is not perfect, am sure he missed at some point, but like Iâve said, time will tell.

With the shortages on hardware Iâm sure most games have been discussed about being cross-gen. Xbox has a solution though with cloud streaming built into old consoles so they are able to transition more quickly than Sony is, funnily enough.
