Did you read my actual post here is what I meant. Like the actual answer to the question, that was supposed to lead what kind of answer I was expecting from others who would then reply to my post. I didn’t justify any of the supposed inflammatory language. Did you actually see me mention anything about that? I just linked a subreddit where this conversation was happening on a more regular and bigger scale about people’s reasons for wanting Starfield (on a Starfield subreddit where most people are already bethesda fans btw), that’s all. I could have easily just asked the question without any reddit link, but you’re the one who made so many extrapolations based on what the guy who asked the question had some ulterior intentions about “controlling the narrative, dunking on xbox” or whatever strawman you’ve put up here.
how is any of this even similar to your post about directors cut, spiderman sequels, remasters or whatever tangent you went on??
sure go on the subreddits for those specific games and you’ll find tons and tons of these questions, even with similar language that you’re so hellbent on is the actual issue here for some reason. This is sony games we’re talking about, so their plastic box warring is gonna be more entertaining on those subreddits, whereas this forum is doing pretty good and I didn’t instigate any of that here when I asked why people are looking forward to Starfield given every response I got had to do with the game itself and nothing to do with its exclusive nature.
If you genuinely want to constructively contribute to the conversation, let us know why you’re particularly excited for Starfield as a game on its own, otherwise let’s just end the whole platform wars related conversation here lol.
I found the poorly worded original reddit post particularly triggering although I knew you shared that one just to initiate a wholesome conversation. My original reply wasn’t directed towards you nor to anybody else here for that matter.
I agree the original post on the reddit itself could have done without the exclusivity related description which in the context of the question is not an interesting conversation cuz well it’s done to death now also because it’s a Starfield subreddit more so than a platform related one like Xbox or playstation or whatever so chances are most people are in that subreddit for the game more so than the platforms, which is just where they’ll go if they love the developer and the games.
But my intentions of linking that was genuinely that there was a great conversation in the replies to that where several people had their own stories and reasons for why they were looking forward to the game. Some even did mention the description having nothing to do with their reasons for wanting Starfield, so it’s not like it was an echo chamber where everyone just agreed to the language of the guy asking the question. I just felt like asking that question here too and knowing what reasons people had to be excited about Starfield, and I mentioned my love for grounded sci-fi and how Starfield is gonna scratch that itch.
I was just watching the doco on Flight Sim by noclip, they mentioned that 2/3 of the studio was more tech / sim heavy while the other side of the studio were more character and story driven. Made me think, could asobo work with Kojima on his cloud game because how much experience they got with that sort of stuff while making Flight Sim?
I plan to! Gotta get settingsl dialed in first and then will be selling em on my Etsy shop (don’t wanna link here since it’s lame to directly promote on forums, but go to Etsy and search NerdPropellant).
wait so YOU’RE NerdPropellant on twitter? I often see your comments on many gaming related posts but I hadn’t known that’s you. Lol it’s all coming together.
I just saw you follow me too lol, let me reciprocate asap.
