As usual people speak about games they haven’t even played, SW BF2 is a great game, EA tried to do something Activision, T2 and WB did without so many cries.

Like when that idiot exec at DICE, who thankfully left soon after, said “If you don’t like it, don’t buy it.” regarding people’s critques about female soldiers in BFV. And 7 zillion people online kept saying they canceled their pre-orders. Or won’t be buying it because the DICE guy told them not to. Same comments, over and over and over

I’m going to use this post as a jumping off point. This reply isn’t just aimed at you, it’s aimed at everyone who keeps talking as if Nintendo fans ask for, & cheer, some of the dodgy stuff that Nintendo does.
First off, Nintendo are actually perfectly capable of releasing high quality remasters of their games. Wind Waker on the Wii U was very good. On the 3DS Ocarina of Time & Samus Returns were both excellent. Link’s Awakening on the Switch was excellent. They can do it, they just bloody don’t sometimes & it’s maddening.
There are no Nintendo fans out there asking for a low quality upgrade of Skyward Sword. We wanted a high quality collection of 3D Zelda titles for the 35th anniversary, maybe including SS. Most fans in online communities aren’t happy. I am personally disappointed that they haven’t even reworked the swordplay of the game to full button controls.
Speaking about remaster collections, nobody asked for that low quality collection of Mario titles last year either. 64, Sunshine & Galaxy are all wonderful games but my god that was the bare minimum of effort. At the very least they should’ve touched up the graphics & brought the whole visual style of the games up to a more modern level. They couldn’t even do that. It sucked & again, pretty much everyone agreed on that.
The way you guys talk about Nintendo fans doesn’t match up to the reality that I’m aware of, as a Nintendo fan. We’re pretty much unanimously agreed that bare minimum remasters are rubbish & we want better. Nobody’s clapping & cheering for this stuff. Anyone who does very quickly finds themselves in a heated debate. Nintendo can & should be doing much better with some of this stuff.

Man I miss Blockbuster/Hollywood Video. There was something special about renting a bunch of video tapes/DVD and games on a Friday afternoon after school with the folks then have that be your whole weekend.

@anon15396042 the reality on twitter is way different and is more akin to what Rorona and I have shared. These people will defend ANYTHING nintendo does. Like literally anything and go to bat for what they have done to Pokemon, the Mario collections, Skyward Sword HD and such.
There are clowns on places like Twitter for every one of the big 3, who will defend anything that any of them do, to the death.
I’m talking about dedicated online communities, like this one here. Even just go check out the various Nintendo communities on Reddit & you’ll see exactly what I described. Real fans of the franchises & games, constantly engaged in the latest news, reacting to the dodgy stuff exactly as I said. Hell, there’s a healthy “gallow’s humour” atmosphere a lot of the time, where Nintendo fans mock Nintendo before anyone else & more than anyone else.
Honestly, I think a lot of you guys need to stop with the bitchy attitude towards fans of Xbox’s competitors. Some of you behave as if PlayStation or Nintendo fans are such pathetic morons & we are oh so superior. The reality is that there are bad fans (console warriors) everywhere, for every side. Yes, including people here. The vast majority are decent though, just fans like us who love their gaming but happen to prefer Zelda or Uncharted to Halo.
I’m not at all angry here, by the way. I’m not itching for a fight, that’s not why I’m saying these things. I’m saying this because there’s no reason why we can’t all praise the good stuff that any of the big 3 do, while also criticising any of them when they fuck up or do half-assed stuff that should be much better.

Did you buy any of those lazy ports? It’s my understanding the Nintendo base buys anything and that’s what I base my opinion on. Buying it = cheering it on.
