Yeah, I bought the Mario 3D collection. Theyâre still wonderful games, as I said. I donât own the original versions or the consoles they released on. I wanted to play them on my Switch & Nintendo have given me no other options to do that.
Iâm certainly not cheering on the quality of the remasters though. They were nowhere near good enough.
Iâm also not entirely certain that voting with your wallet always leads to the desired outcome. We want high quality remasters. What if they released poor quality remasters, nobody bought them & Nintendo then said âok I guess nobody wants remasters at allâ & stopped doing them. Then classic titles would be stuck on ancient hardware & lost to time.
My preference would be what Xbox have been doing with backwards compatibility. All your stuff comes forward to the new generation, with automatic upgrades. Select older games from much older hardware (like OG Xbox & 360) get re-released digitally & are free downloads for anyone who already bought them. I wish both Nintendo & PlayStation would do it the same way but sadly they tend to mess around with exotic hardware & so backwards compatibility comes & goes from one generation to the next.
For me itâs easy, just donât support that shit and demand better. My opinion on Nintendofans stands it seems

I still Xbox should distance themselves from Colt and Dealer given how they act on Twitter.
Yes theyâre the more behaved fanboys, but still, they actively engage in and star console warring behavior.
There was also the homophobia thing from 7 years back with Dealer that some people still donât forgive him forâŚ

Going on Coltâs and Rand/Jezâs show are the style of shows Phil should be go on. These content creators understand what Xbox is trying to do and communicate it well.
I would rather hear Phil on Ironlords & RDX then listening to him on the completely uninformed unlocked podcast.

I agree, I love listening to them on their podcasts but I canât even follow them on Twitter with how much console warring they engage in. Itâs embarrassing.
