Believe me, you would imagine it.
yeah i like todd , he is Likable person
I mean look at this. 30:00 mark. The way everyone moves, this is sooooo bad. Wooden shit, sorry. And why does all characters in the game look like shit. Itâs something I noticed with a lot of their games. Characters are always suuuuuper ugly. Why?! I donât want to be in a world like this.
Let me call Nintendo then to voice Mario, Luigi, Link and everybody else then or Square Enix to start voicing the DQ mc.
Oh brother you have to be trolling.
No Iâm not. For me this is the reason why I would never play PC games. Often times they look like this. Like they donât care about just a minimal amount of animation. I mean look after he shoots the guy. He walks towards the bar and the gun just disappears out of his hand. Is it really to much work to do just a tiny animation where he gets his gun in a holster or something. This is breaking the immersion for me.
I guess Bethesda games are not for you my dude, maybe a single-player linear game is what youâre searching for.
Konami could have said nothing at all and no one would miss them⌠itâs the sad truth.
Even those games. Thereâs zero reason for it. Give people the option to turn the voices off. I have a 6 year old daughter with a switch. You know what my biggest problem is. All there games have giant text walls for conservations. She canât read well enough yet to play almost any of those games.
I can agree with the first paragraph in general but if all of the other stuff is great but your own character is just standing there silently, it simply doesnât have the same affect because thereâs no rebuttal, no conversation, no emotion, nothing. If a scene require my character to get pissed and scream to get across a point or emotion like maybe another character dying, it always comes across as âoh, no big dealâ because your character again, has no reaction because he doesnât say anything.
First Person games that have a silent protagonist is bad to me for reasons I have already stated but third person silent protagonist is even worse because you see the characterâs face and just nothing. Nothing is there.
A game can have all that amazing stuff that you mention to start your post but if your character is a silent protagonist, I see it all as a total and complete waste because it basically ends up being nothing more than all of those character talking to themselves and getting no responses or conversations or arguments or whatever in return.
Not going to lie, I really wish Nintendo would give Link a damn good male voice because playing BOTW for 22 hours, that was one of my many negatives. Link goes to save Hyrule, defeat Ganon, rescue Zelda, blah blah blah but because heâs silent, he never gives any reasons as to why he does that repeatedly in every game. It just feels no emotionless and empty to me. Like, why even have any character with voice acting. Better off just giving them text like in the old days before voice acting.
Even a game like The Division 2 which I love but holy hell, my #1 complaint that I hope they fix/change/solve if they develop The Division 3 is you can keep the character creation even though I by far prefer preset voiced characters as long as they just get a solid male and female voice actors because watching a cut scene in games with a silent protagonist including The Division 2 is horrible for me. Itâs like, why even have any of this to begin with if my character is just going to stand there like a jackass. SMH.
As for Outriders, the voice acting is fine. The writing is meh but itâs not meant to be taken seriously based on what the game is but im very happy that my character talks. I will easily take decent voice acting and mediocre at best writing over a silent protagonist in any game because no matter how great all the other stuff is, it all falls flat to me when my character is just standing there silently doing absolutely nothing.
Biggest engine overhaul since Oblivion? So theyâre literally still using a game engine that is a minimum of 15 freaking years old, past itâs prime and obsolete? Awesome. SMH.
Also, Todd has said that same exact stuff back in 2015 and 2018. Both times, I still see a shitty looking game from a studio that desperately needs a brand new built from the ground up for the current generation and beyond of tech game engine.
But whatever. Will wait and see how this all plays out but I would in no way, shape or form be shocked or surprised to see day one launch with massive issues and in some cases, the same issues as their previous games.
If Link ever talks Iâm burning my copy of Zelda.
No absolutely not. I play a lot of different games and like multiplayer or coop a lot. I donât need a stupid walking Simulator. But come on dude, we can expect a little bit more from a triple a production. And no this is not bashing ethesda I want Xbox and their studios to succeed. But they have to step it up in that department. Even Mass Effect one had better animations!
Just make an attempt to play Skyrim
I mean look at Wolfenstein, those games look freaking fantastic. Animations and all. Itâs not like zenimax has no studios with good tech.
If they have the choice to you to turn off his voice it would be a non isssue. I bet most people would turn it on though.
Omg I did. There are 30 million people who see something I donât. Itâs just sooo bad. It even begins with the character editor. All the options look like mud. Ahhhh why are people giving this a pass. Ahahahah will never understand
Just stop feeding him
I understand what youâre talking about, but you need to understand that fancy animations doesnât work well with the type of game they make, simple as that.
That sounds like bullshit to me. If open world games can do it so can Bethesda.
Not saying I donât like their game. I do, but there is room for improvement in certain areas.
I just think a large chunk of the console crowd likes good animations and it makes a lot of that wow factor for many people. They should step it up in that department if they want to get new fans. I mean I want to like their games. And I think itâs probably really cool having a dynamic story branching expansive rpg. I love mass effect for example and those animations are also not top of the line but they are good enough.
The scope, system and mechanics are not even remotely in the same world.
