I mean I get it, but a certain device that is actually selling well despite the price is on the horizon. Plus many of us do own a PC so you know, a cross platform sounds neat and all.

I understand prioritizing certain platforms for launch but I am surprised to read that they don’t have any future plans at all for an Xbox version, didn’t expect that to be honest.
Also I am not a developer but how difficult or expensive is it to port on the Xbox Series consoles if you already have a PC version up and running? we are seeing tons of indie titles made by very small teams release on Xbox all the time. Maybe they just want the Game Pass moneybag…

Having a new Xbox released in 2025 (Ally) and in 2026 (Desktop Ally) keeps Xbox in online discussions and also possibly seen in stores and I think it pushes the narrative that the company is actively working on hardware. Those more frequent releases are good for the brand I think.
What is the difference between the 2026 box and 2027 box? I’ve always been confused by the speculation. Some seem to speculate next gen Xbox is console/pc hybrid. Others seem to imply one is a pc box and a second console box will exist and business as usual for console gamers.
I think the 2026 box is expected to be a partnered device like the ASUS Xbox Ally while the 2027 is expected to be the next Xbox generation console.
I think like they said Xbox is not a priority. I was thinking of getting it on Steam after trying out the demo but looks like I’ll be skipping it. Xbox is my priority console and if it isn’t a priority I see no reason to support the game. Good luck to them.
I see. That makes sense. Now that I think about it I doubt they would do oem first then their own a year later just bc of how new gen’s are marketed. The asus handheld was marketed appropriately based on what it is. Would be weird to hype up a next gen device with oem and then be like, see you next year for the xbox version.
Barely any marketing for this, but it could be the kind of game that doesn’t need it, plus it’s on Game Pass, people will play it regardless. Watched very little of it, so this will be a fresh experience and I’m definitely very curious about it.
Jez on the Xbox Two Podcast apparently said we’ll get a Direct next month, something at the VGA and a Fable deep dive in early 2026.
It looks like Battlefield 6 is doing crazy numbers right now. It has 750 000 concurent player on steam at the moment. Just on steam. EA app apparently has problems. It is probably doing even more on consoles. We’re so back !
The OEM in 2026 would be a full-blown PC probably just booting straight to the Xbox full screen like the Xbox Ally only I would expect that at the time the Full screen would be more optimized. Also, the push with this device would be for expanding the Xbox base on PC. As for NextGen console I expect it will take more of a surface approach, limited and premium. My guess is Microsoft will also use the next console as a template for having partners build their own Xbox devices much like PCs and Phones. The Xbox console built by Xbox will probably also serve as a security guard akin to Microsoft Surface products.
