I’m really not shocked to be honest, to hear this. It’s disappointing though because I agree with him, why aren’t there more GTA esque games? We had Sleeping Dogs, which was awesome, the first Saints Row was great too. I’d settle for a lower budget GTA clone, the eternal wait for GTA VI just isn’t fun, there can exist more of these games.

Because it would loose out on comparison with GTA most of the time. If not killed by reviewers, it’d be killed by youtubers/streamers.
It’s a shame, because they can coexist. And iirc the earlier Saints Row games scored nicely, didn’t they? Sleeping Dogs?
I’d definitely be interested in a smaller scale game ala GTA.
Would you be shocked to learn that despite good reviews, Sleeping Dogs did not perform up to Square Enix’s sales expectations?

Same, I bought and played it on 360 last year, just before the new one released. I liked it.

Game Pass is on fire. Someone probably told Game Pass early this year that it’s not that big of a deal and GP took that seriously.
