Saints row started pivoting with 3rd to build it’s own identity to avoid directly competing with GTA. Sleeping Dogs apparently disappointed the publisher… Mafia III tried open world and failed so bad we waiter years for a sequel that’s now linear game.
Maybe because unlikeable youtube trash post videos with their punchable scrubstach face with tags like IM NOT SOLD on them.
The reality is that GTA has set the bar too high. Gamers are too fickle, and influencer trash poisons the well far too quickly. Rather than being interested that someone is trying to build something at a reasonable scale, most of the discussion will inevitably end up at “this isnt GTA”.

Just watched his hands- OFF preview and yeah, it’s bad. Looks like a $20 purchase months later when it’s all patched up unless they delay it which I don’t see happening since it’s less than three weeks away. I loved Sleeping Dogs and Watch Dogs 2014. Great games. But since then, Watch Dogs 2 was so disappointing for me while Legion could have been better than what it was but the generated characters wasn’t it in my opinion. Shame since I actually enjoyed the story/antagonist. Saints Row 2022 was a disaster. Sadly, it’s only GTA and nothing else out there which is a shame.
Hell yeah!!! Bought this for Steam a few years ago but only played the first two chapters as im simply not a PC guy. I do think that this game should have been released before the sequel but better late than never.

All prices go up. That’s just how our economy works.
But considering that a whole month of GPU costs the same as a single Fortnite skin, I’ll never understand how GP is apparently “too expensive.”

I really hope they add more Sierra games to the Antstream Xbox Retro Games thing – I will poke around Torrins Passage but the VGA versions of Quest For Glory would be great to see.

I hope it’s a new game and not just a film adaptation or something. All three of those games are some of the best of all time. It’s criminal to me that the series has lain unused for so long.

Another Skyrim clone? That one line alone is makibg me wonder what other game tries to be Skyrim. Because don’t think I ever heard of any game trying.
Tainted Grail is impressive for the team size but as a game it’s not “good”, if that makes sense. I liked the story premise and music. The gameplay, graphics, and overall quality were not good enough to keep me engaged. It is not a “skyrim-like” as it’s using Unity and has no clockwork simulation aspects to it. I’m shocked at its OC score, and think a game from a better known dev of this quality would be in the 60s at best.

Yeah I had the same thought. Where are all these Skyrim clones, because I want to play them. 
Other than Avowed and a handful of open world fantasy games on Xbox 360 (Gothic, Two Worlds), what else even is there that’s remotely close? Dragon’s Dogma I guess?
I would say Dragon’s Dogma and Avowed are their own thing. They use the fantasy setting and Open Worlds/Zones to tell a story.
But they all try to be their own thing, Avowed maybe just a little less, as Skyrim like was likely something they may have bern aiming for.
It only has 4 reviews on OC. Remains to be seen if the score stays that way if/when the game hits 50+ or 100+ reviews. My guess would be probably mid-70’s at the end.
