question for those that use pc as the main form of playing games.

What has caused you guys and gals to use xbox pc app and gamepass in the first place?

No antagonizing stuff just curiosity is all.

Cause i have noticed a increasing amount of pc users who like the xbox community in some shape or form and that actually made me curious enough to ask this question.

When it comes to epic single player first person shooter campaigns Id Soft is on the top of their game right now, I feel like I’m getting the type of enjoyment that I used to get from Bungie Halo games out of Doom TDA right now, when I got to the dragon level it felt as fun as driving the Banshee on that Halo 2 level where we play as the arbiter and there’s a ton of flood, I hope the next Halo is just as fun.

Kulebra is on the precipice of being charming but doesn’t quite nail it. It’s a boring game with a lot of heart.

Sucks to see this because it’s a great game. Wish they never included Ronaldo and that DJ it killed all hype for the game

For me the key is Game Pass, and sometimes sale prices (or CDKeys prices) that are lower than other stores.

In truth, Steam is still the easiest place to play on PC and has so many places you can buy keys (Xbox being the closest second), but with so many other launchers required now too if you want full coverage / to play some games even if from Steam, I think most players have slowly become accustomed to not everything being in Steam (Epic, EA, Ubisoft etc).

In particular, by releasing their games on Steam too, Microsoft have proven they’re not trying to replace it (and they generally have a great relationship with Gabe) which can lessen hostility as PC gamers can be tribal too and will defend Steam to the death lol.

Also, the Xbox app on PC now is much more reliable and user friendly than it used to be, probably second only to Steam now (the other three I mentioned keep forcing me to re-log in regularly which irritates me lol).

So ease of use improvements, PC gamers more used to multiple stores to a degree (and thinking Microsoft are actually playing nice) plus the insane value of Game Pass at the moment are all reasons I’ve noticed a lot of PC gamers being willing to give the app a try - even if it’s just to try a game out on GP before buying it on Steam (but I think many then realise you get Xbox achievements which feel better than Steam ones due to the unlock sound and rarity %, and think screw it I’ll finish it here lol)

Lol that does highlight for me the rose-tinted glasses of nostalgia - in my head, my memories of MechWarrior 2 were that the graphics were just slightly less advanced versions of MW5: The Clans.

It and the MechCommander series were some of my favourite games as a teenager.

Seeing it in that clip brought home to me how far graphics have come, how much our imagination likely helped back then and how much our memories lie to us lol

Ditto! It looks WAY older than I remember.

Also: MechCommander REPRESENT. Adore that game. I liked the sequel too, but the first has a special place in my gaming heart.

Funny thing is people ended up warming up to the DJ. Ranaldo not so much. Think they should stay away from adding celebrities as guests all the same. They were on the right track with Ken and Chun.

Really? I had the opposite reaction.

It was how I remembered it. But I also have the weird perchant of thinking games from this era up to the ps2 were more visually readable than games of today. So I tend to play older games… Which might have grounded my expectations
