With the raising of game prices, it seems like the Videogame industry is intent on causing the rise of a particular something…
I’m not advocating for it, but I would be shocked if we didn’t see a significant rise in it with the price of games increasing across the board.
If they keep prices steady for Gamepass, I could see a significant bump in subscriptions. If they raise GPU by $10 or something silly, then those numbers will fall off a cliff.
Regardless, this all sucks and doesn’t instill me with confidence.
This generation is going backwards in pricing, the older the hardware the more expensive it gets!
I have enough real life problems to even be concerned about videogames (as much as I love this hobby) so I’ll just say that from now on my HUGE backlog will take care of my gaming schedule and purchases will only be possible in deep sales only from now on too. Good luck to publishers/platform holders with the 90 euro price point!
It made sense to me that Nintendo would opt for a price increase at the start of their new gen. (Not to say that I agree with or like it, but if you’re going to do it, a new hardware generation is the time.)
I thought it was possible, even probable, that Microsoft and Sony could hold out at current prices for the rest of the current gen, which we’re already five (!) years into, and then have a big increase for their next consoles. But I guess not. It’s crazy to me that 5 year old hardware is seeing increases like this. But now that it’s Nintendo and Xbox, Sony will certainly follow suit. This isn’t about any one company’s strategy, it’s about economic conditions that affect them all.
Huh. I thought fandom as in well fandom. I was like “Wait, they got chased away by their own fans? That’s crazy.” Anyway, this is crazy. Black Thursday is the impression I’m getting.
Xbox price hike is getting news attention over local news, telling parents don’t wait to buy. At least they don’t leave it to us gamers only for report.
