Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony are just gonna drop the ball in the worst way possible for the start of next gen consoles.
I mean, i am already in a pretty good setup with both my xbox(Series s and one) and my laptop and cellphone, so this does not bother me too much. However i am miffed as hell that gaming as a whole i know being called a luxury hobby and its annoying me to no end.
The only way the prices go down is if the entire inflation thing goes down and out. But this is happening right now thanks in no small part ot three individual sectors in politics, economy and outright corporate greed. I mean even pc users are having issues and am not just talking about nvidia.
I do wonder how this all plays out cause its ridiculous how things are turning out to be for the remainer of the year and the next.
They gave a date this time, I think precisely to led the industry work around it.
Also- This is a huge win for Outer Worlds 2 and Black Ops 7. Both get breathing space in that may now be a light holiday, and OW2 will be perfectly positioned to get real GOTY buzz
And watch that date go to November 2026 or something.
The total dead silence wasnāt a good sign, even though the CEO said something about not starting marketing until close to release. And also the recent Borderlands news had me thinking VI could make it this year, but I guess not.
Back with GTA 5 and delays I hated it, I was so mad, now Iām likeā¦fine. Backlog is big enough as it is, plus plenty good shit coming too.
I think there is hope to be optimistic ā framegen and DLSS reduce the cost of hardware. Devs can optimize more. Games can get smaller. Cloud streaming will be more viable (heck this is psrtially why I think there are still so many Xbones out there). Mobile games can be real games now.
Itās not great. And I hope someone brings back a true entry level console or Xbox just keeps making Series S forever at the same price. But there is room for hope.
I know some people believed Fable was moved into 2026 because of GTA VI, we canāt know for sure, but hopefully the GTA delay wonāt impact Fable next year.
I remain firmly convinced itāll be fun, incredibly made, enormous and yet also nowhere near as clever as it thinks it is and the gameplay will still be 5 years behind, and itāll be fucking unbearable how overhyped it is.
I have yet to finish a Rockstar game. Incredible world simulation but the games themselves are substandard third person shooters with unfun mission design.
Ī have finished GTA4 and RDR1 (does Max Payne 3 count? I loved this one) but bailed out quick with GTA5, I may try out RDR2 in the future just for the setting aloneā¦I have accepted that gameplay in their games is pretty bad (excluding Max Payne 3 which plays amazing) so yeah Iāll probably play it sometime in the future for the story/vibes and all.
About the delay itās good that now games like Outer Worlds 2 and Ninja Gaiden 4 will breatheā¦hopefully Gears E-Day will release in December too (let me dream!). That would be one hell of a Fall/Winter line-up!
