Thatâs surprising. I thought a big part of your strategy to keep costs down was to buy physical games, beat them fairly quickly, and then trade them in while they were still giving decent value.
What made you change to digital only?

Game Pass/Ubisoft+. With the money I save from not having to buy Ubisoftâs games as well as the games on Game Pass that I want to play day one (Microsoftâs and third parties), buying games digitally day one donât change much if anything. The money im saving from the two subscription services evens out the credit I would get back from trading games in which is usually half of what the day one price was.
Also, thereâs always dlc/expansions for most games and digital is just easier and more convenient. Plus, to be able to just download the game(s) and play them instantly or the next morning without having to go to Best Buy/GameStop or wait for the game to arrive via Amazon/Best Buy is just the way to go now.
Really wish EA would add a higher tier to EA Play for day one releases like Ubisoft does in which you get the best edition of the game.
Not only that but since im also playing older games, buying a game physically and not playing it day one would no longer make any sense due to the trade value decreasing. Now, that im all digital, the need to finish games quickly to trade them in is gone because obviously, I canât trade in digital games.
And finally, im already getting prepared for the next Xbox console in 2026 as im expecting it to be digital only with Sony following suit with PlayStation 6 two years later. This way, no surprises or having to make changes. I will already be set.

Yeah but a few games in a completely different genre than the one you are a fan of are coming over so thatâŚnullifies it or something I guess? Also you werenât actually going to buy the game anyway you were just complaining to be negative, or at least thatâs the prevailing âargumentâ here when someone is annoyed that they will miss out on these games that havenât been available legally for over 20 years. Guess I should have kept my Dreamcast, oh well!
Itâs just another version of the âxbox owners donât play these kinds of gamesâ nonsense that I see from Sony zealots , I guess the over 200 hrs I have in SF6 donât count. Shit is very annoying to have to deal with but it is what it is. Always glad to see Xbox getting the rpgs Iâve wanted to see on there though, amazing how one can be happy about one thing while still being disappointed about another isnât it?

I donât think anyone thinks people are fanboys for wanting the fighting game collections. Hell, Powerstone might have been the one game I considered one for.
Itâs just that we understand why and none of these games are going to come until the issue is resolved, if itâs ever resolved.

Yep, I mean I agree with the sentiment of the article but where was this energy when Starfield was relentlessly shit on for months after release?
Remember the Insomniac leaks, and how everyone was suddenly against leaks after that happened, after gleefully taking part in them beforehand? This seems to be another case of suddenly having a problem with something after it happens to a Sony studio. Itâs the hypocrisy that grinds my gears.
