Regardless there is going to be some advancement in tech that is adopted that makes all this a reality even if they have to go it alone. Xbox has been known to come up with their own things and even take risks like broadband which in my opinion helped in ushering it to the public. I do understand the challenge of battery life, heat dissipation and miniaturization but to me the Ps5 is pretty much still a better ps4. I have yet to see a NextGen game on it. All the games are playable on Steam , Aya Neo Lenovo go and many others and there are videos on YouTube of people making a PS4 handheld by miniaturizing it. So, I do think a PS4 can be souped up a bit andd the games brought or scaled down to it. In any case if this platform holders are saying this they must have some idea of bringing it to the market in some fashion.

I’m manifesting that he’s joining Xbox as head of Sega when Xbox picks them up… but I’m a bit apprehensive on the M&A front these days.

Kind crazy story I want to share, I think some of you would remember a while ago when a rumor that Xbox would exit the Saudi market, it was brought up in the podcast iirc at least the Xbox Two and Jez talked about it.
Turns out, it’s good old’ gaming media FUD. That’s right, another case of gaming media straight up lying and manufacturing doom around Xbox. In Saudi Arabia, if you don’t know it’s a very Playstation dominant region, it’s like 90% Playstation at least. The gaming media of course represents that, what you see in Western media is nothing because here the PS dominance is even larger and media are literally all people who grew up with PS and Nintendo, and who themselves have worked or keep ties with the local Playstation branch, openly. Even though they are not so many, they’re influential and all know each other and have held dominance on the local games media. They’ve always been working hard to undermine Xbox presence in the country, even back in the 360, but this was a new low, because they literally convinced people Xbox was exiting the market and some people started selling their consoles as a result (at least what they said).
It’s insane how far the derangement goes.
This is a little old and I do think there was reason for the panic at the time. Too many things like console sales drop was being reported then and i think Jez might have said they were reshuffle stock around the world, so some regions were being prioritized while some had lesser drops all that made the FUD seem like something add to the Xbox going third party doom and gloom back then.
I think Xbox coming out with this new marketing in my opinion has cleared the air alot and made things a lot clearer and with the tease from Tom sounds like it will even make more sense for more on the edge.
It started a while ago but it’s now been disproven completely and the region has received new stock across, and that’s contrary to what was said (lied) about originally that Xbox would stop selling.

Makes me wonder if this could be a next gen launch title or maybe even later.
Given the Cyberpunk debacle I imagine they’ll only ship it when they’re 100% sure it’s perfect - so even if they could build a game that big in 4 years, I’m thinking they’d still go a year or two after next gen to ensure they iron out any bugs caused by the new consoles…
They started pre production in 2022, so a 2027/2028 release seems reasonable to me.
Yeah but development they said started on Cyberpunk 4 years before release, so given they’re now in the same stage here and with additional care I’m thinking more 2029
