I think if it was just anime, they would actually get away with it. If it’s everything, I do believe there will be objection.
It would suck if Xbox lost access to FROM games, not to mention the ACTUAL MONOPOLY Sony has in anime. Hoping there will be some pushback here.

In the mean time, let’s see who defend this deal. If you don’t want to be forced to have a Sony account to play Souls game on PC, it’s time to speak up.
Most of the anti-acquisitions crowd are already spinning it “well yes, but Sony needs to do this to compete given Tencent and Microsoft are buying up the industry”.
As I like to say, fucking hypocrites lol - they should just own it and say “I want my plastic box to beat your plastic box and I like my games to hurt me so I’m really happy about this!”

I used to marvel at the idea of the universal translator in Star Trek and never thought I would see it in my lifetime, but it sounds like that tech isn’t so far off after all. Now, everyone just needs to focus on the Holodeck.

Obviously Stalker 2 is huge and the other 2 are a decent get, but it does feel like since they’ve split out Standard and increased prices we’ve been getting less games, not more?
Not going to complain too much as despite having zero interest in Nine Sols (too hard plus not a massive 2D fan) or Aliens (not my thing) I’ll likely get a ton of use out of Stalker 2 and we recently had CoD (even though I sucked at it), but it does feel like we’ve had a slowdown and lose more games each month than we get - with the “coming to Standard / Cloud” bits acting like padding.
Still wonder if more of the first-party games were planned to make it earlier in the year / earlier than December and so they’ve had a few holes (in which case next year may be insane as we get the pent-up Xbox games plus the usual Game Pass selection) or whether this is a permanent slowdown as they go for fewer, bigger games as the noisy fans seem to always demand.
I do hope they’ll still add lots of indies in the future though - I’d possibly never have found / tried Powerwash Simulator, House Flipper, Moving Out, Escape Academy, Call of the Sea, Unpacking, Beacon Pines or so so many other indie games without the “risk free” curated Game Pass selection…
Seems about the same to me, only traded some for big titles. FS2024 and Stalker 2 are the main event and pretty huge. It’s just matter of taste. I think indies will still go in there; just that there’s more big publisher names are stepping in like Capcom, Sega (especially them), and more.

It’s far more political than you think. We already saw a bunch of senators across the aisle taking issue with a major US company being locked out of Japan. This will absolutely raise eyebrows in Washington.
