Part of me is wondering about the streaming box they parked - whether that’ll be amped up to be the basic entry model (maybe rather than pure streaming it’s got some local tech to help out, or stuff to improve streaming like the direct to WiFi controller), then the handheld at normal price then Pro prices for the X-level model…

I have and love the Anker 737. It’s about twice the size of the Ally’s battery, so between the two you can definitely get 4+ hours. More if you’re willing to compromise on things like FPS and resolution.

I think he already said it is getting hard to subsidize consoles and I would imagine you would want something comparable to a 4090 or better next gen so yes, I would expect the entry console to be above a thousand easily. In fact, I expect consoles moving forward to be premium products. In my opinion the handheld space will be the big push at about 600 for NextGen. Mainline consoles will have to fall into the one hardware plays all like DVD or Blu-ray players.
I really hope that next-gen would be actually planned around ease of development, for real, not just more power and features. Maybe figure stuff out with UE5 that makes it optimized at a hardware level, stuff like that, make game development efficient again.
When has prices ever fallen? The fact the man teased it to me sounds like that would be what they would have charged for a mid-gen console had they tried building one. Ease of development I can maybe see but I still think things will be expensive NextGen.
And BO6 is lapping it. From launch to season one launch it’ll clear two billion easy. Not even counting new gamepass subs!
