Geoff’s post has been deleted but this was one of the quotes, an ex-Sony developer notices his own/his teams layoffs didn’t get as much attention by the media lol

Fair enough. I misinterpreted what was said and that is squarely on me.

My apologies.

I think there’s fundamental misunderstanding on this sometimes. We shouldn’t want Xbox to get easy treatment like Sony/Nintendo, we should want all to get the proper treatment on the bad shit they do. The way MS is treated is the way all companies should be treated. Not pretend that you hate all companies but then very obviously single out only one or few. That’s what it simply should be. Preferably on top of this, a condemnation of the system that allows that much of anti-human practices to be the norm without punishment or regulation whatsoever.

Genuinely wonder at this point if Fairgame$ still gets released. Someone at Sony must be comparing these two games and wishing they had taken the negative reception to Concord’s reveal trailer seriously.

Apparently they’re happy about it internally, but that just doesn’t seem to matter much, not for live service and especially not in today’s climate. Hope there’s something cool there and wish them the best, I don’t want another cynical episode of this whole thing, please no.

No worries. :slightly_smiling_face:

Sony is at a place of no return. The gamble goes on especially now that third parties are not that interested in exclusives. Money hatting isn’t lucrative this days.

To my core I believe a Twisted Metal live service game would be huge. It has so many elements that would make it a winner and prime for live service.

I haven’t watched the TV show so I don’t know if it would draw in people but it’s something, if introduced to a new generation of gamers, that has a pretty appealing universe.

And like Jesse mentions on the podcasts, it can bring in IP from games, movies, comic books, etc. an essential component for expanding the audience and making money, much like how Rocket League does with vehicles.

Can’t wait to see “journalists” wearing Firewalk/Concord t-shirts while having angry faces asking another Sony dev if they also fear about a potential closure of their studio! Any time now!

And they said Xbox’s plan was bad.

Stoked for this. Hope we can get remasters of some of the PS3/PS4 Tales games that skipped Xbox before Namco came back with Arise. Funny how many pubs/studios went exclusive during last gen have ditched the model because of the same reason I’ve levied against Sony fans for years: they simply don’t buy games at anywhere near the rate they should be given their userbase.

Playstation exclusives are coming to Xbox. When that happens, mass hysteria of epic proportion from the Sony fanboys on Meltdown.

An Update from PlayStation Studios - Sony Interactive Entertainment

Expanding beyond PlayStation devices and crafting engaging online experiences alongside our single-player games are key focal areas for us as we evolve our revenue streams. We need to be strategic, though, in bringing our games to new platforms and recognize when our games fall short of meeting player expectations.

True Switch it is.

Oh look, the thing I linked the community to several months ago where the CEO stated this very thing, was true (obvious). I was then pushed back by the usual suspects, that this doesn’t mean what it clearly means and that they’ll never put out their games on Xbox/Switch… months before Horizon LEGO was announced. No idea why anyone would look at Sony’s sinking ship and think shareholders wouldn’t start pushing for this…

See above. Of course it doesn’t, but it doesn’t even matter since they’re doing exactly the thing I was told would never happen. Just like I’m going to say here that if you think it doesn’t mean Xbox… I can’t wait to see you all in less than a year at this rate.

The perception of Sony as ruthless console-first, exclusives-driven is very strong, that’s why people will “doubt” this, until happens for real. Of course, it already happened, in MLB, and then now Lego Horizon on Switch, but then people will say these two have different conditions and whatnot. We will see. I personally think Helldivers 2 on Xbox will be a reality.
