The controllers look kind of nice (maybe a bit of Hori cheesiness), but that console is just lazy.
I’m playing it as well. I like the game but like Jesse said in his review, the combat isn’t as good as the rest of the game. I hate the GOW/TLOU camera perspective as it makes combat worse in my opinion.
On Xbox controllers the center button they call it “The nexus button”, where we just call it Xbox Button. Maybe on the console the front panel buttons are called “nexus” too (power, eject, usb slot)? It makes sense that part would be redone since there is no Eject anymore. Maybe the USB plugs are USB-C now instead of the old USB-A?

Series X goes digital and white… if true
Rising evidence for my theory about how “next-gen” for Xbox would go, a new big $500+600 console in 2026 or so that replaces the X, while the X replaces the S

Is it smaller? If so i might bite. The white colour doesnt bother me if we have covers and stickers.
Series X can’t replace the S if they’re planning on that portable console.
I used to think this is how it would be done but now I’m not so sure, I think they will have a handheld that’s basically a Series S in power and a more powerful thing
But I don’t expect anything to get replaced, Series S will still remain the super cheap entry to GP/Xbox, Series X will be the middle ground between S and the “more powerful thing” and the handheld will be a more expensive S that you can take anywhere
I believe there is some relationship between manufacturing node and GPU architecture (at least that there’d be additional design work to port to newer/incompatible nodes) so I’d expect them to design new XSX2 and XSS2 APUs to take advantage of manufacturing process improvements as well as the integration of an NPU.
I think even if the performance profile doesn’t change a ton, there is benefit to having improved feature set.
Honestly just goes to show that games like that don’t really need a super high budget. Mechanically they aren’t really doing anything special or different from what we got at the tail end of the PS360 gen. I’m glad people are enjoying it though, just not my cup of tea personally. As for the camera, the only game to get it right with melee combat was Godhand.

I don’t know but apparently this model will have a better wireless capability. WiFi 6 (which honestly it should have launched with considering how much game streaming is a major feature of this console).
I wonder if Nexus is reference to that?

True but Don’t Nod has a studio in Paris and Montreal so budgets could be cheaper because of the conversion rates. Even though I could see Paris being expensive.
Banishers is good but very slow, souls like combat in a way due to it being more defensive and slow paced. The combat isn’t free flow like say in Assassin’s Creed Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla where if you attack to the left/right side, you can hit an enemy but in Banishers like God of War/TLOU/Evil West, you have to move the camera to face the enemy in order to hit them where as in AC, I don’t need to do that in order to hit enemies on my left/right side.
I never played Godhand so can’t comment. Banishers though will be wrapped up Sunday/Monday because Thursday is Rebirth time and this game needs to be wrapped up. lol
