The whole logo is gone now? But apparently the bit of text about platforms where it says they are working on Xbox too is still there. Hope nothing has changed, but what a fucking mess. Ever since the reveal trailer I was afraid it wouldn’t come to Xbox, then I actually got announced for it and now here we are.
Pearl Abyss is a big publisher with triple A games under them so the only way you get those games Day one in game Pass is through acquisition.
I do think monetizing even with big third party games could work. For example you could have marketing quests in your game or even have advertisers have visitable shops with a limit per day. I wouldn’t mind a free quest in elden ring that is structured in a marketing way like find a Pepsi ad or that could boost you or a Pepsi store that offers free lives or energy. The big games today make money from Microtransactions. I think Ads can come in to cover a lot of those as long as they are integrated in an optional way that adds or benefits the game, players and the developers.
Black Myth: Wukong (heishenhua.com) I don’t see it anywhere even under news. They have been sly since the summer game fest. I just don’t see this as a good look at least the Baldurs gate devs were upfront, these guys have been awfully quiet while continually promoting the game for PC and PS5. It is what it is but like I said Goodwill is a bonus these days just look at the Silent Hill devs asking for gamers to give their game a chance especially considering this game is a boss rush game.
Yeah, you’re right. The whole Q&A thing isn’t anywhere to be found. Man this sucks, fuck I hate it. The game is done for PC and PS5, so at least let us know what we with an Xbox can expect.
We did have Xbox themselves saying they were working with the studio, but why remove any sign of Xbox on the site then? Now we’re back to uncertainty, lovely.
I thought they said it’d be coming to Xbox, just not at launch?
Yep, it used to say that. I keep seeing people post a screenshot of that quote by the studio. However that quote is not on the website anymore. And the logo is gone too, I don’t like that.
Why remove those things?
The game is about to release, people looking to buy it might get confused if they can’t find it for one of the listed platforms.
Yep, that’s a good point.
I’m happy there’s no cause for alarm after all. Now I hope the wait won’t be super long.
Wonder if this might turn out well. I miss a good LOTR game.
Has there been any word of v riseing comming to Xbox
Not really seen anyone discussing this.
It could be interesting if Xbox could get their hands on NetherRealm and the Mortal Kombat IP, especially if they can help with Killer Instinct.
I’m not sure if they would really bite for the other studios (despite how talented they are) without their respective IP. TT Games might be the other exception as it’s mostly licensing arrangements.
I think WB also owns some of the rights to various ABK games preventing them from doing sequels/remasters, for example the incredible No One Lives Forever (for those of us old enough to remember it).
I really hope they lift the ‘3 curse’, there’s so many amazing games that Valve need to make:
- Team Fortress 3
- Portal 3
- Left 4 Dead 3
- DOTA 3
If it finally is HL3 I think it will be one of the fastest selling games of all time.
My fear has always been that if MS got their hands on MK they wouldn’t even bother with KI anymore. Since one is far more popular and lucrative than the other.
There is that!
Although we could also get MK vs Killer Instant which would be awesome!
Creatures of Ava is great. Really loving my time with it, playing on cloud right now.
I would think Xbox would be looking at MultiVersus and the Nemesis system. How they go about it will be something else.

What could have been (in theory) Sony’s Hellblade team but then move elsewhere, and now, it’s gone. Sad.
