It certainly seems so. COD might just go on Cloud now as well with the Fire stick partnership.

lol. Funny thing is I already have Waku Waku 7 and Galaxy Fight on xbox through ACA collection. Would have loved to have Astra Super Stars as well but I am assuming it’s likely not in this colletion.

Shame there’s too few of them (gamers), not enough to support larger budget games of that style.

Seems more like a situation where current gen systems are just not selling enough copies.

Or prepping for Switch 2

Nah I think calling them out was good. It certainly cleared things unlike with the Black Myth Wukong developer that refuses to talk and have taken the series X/S logo off their website. Blizzard certainly shows there is a market for Xbox in China, so I also don’t think it’s hated probably more to do with PlayStation moneyhatting. They can at least be transparent and say if it’s timed exclusive or not before ending up like Stellar Blade. For me I’ll wait to see if it’s worth the PC purchase or not.

Just sucks to anticipate a game for months only in the last minute, “oh it’s actually not coming to your console, sorry”. Sony has been doing this shit since the PS1 so I am not surprised but it’s still annoying as hell.

It seems Sony’s new target is these Asian developers from Korea and China. First Genshin then Lost Soul Aside, Stellar blades and now possibly Wukong. I think Wukong going PS5 exclusive will only hurt it especially for a first time dev. I don’t see them coming anywhere near Elden Ring and good will is a part of business these days.

Personally, as an Xbox fan, Microsoft should go after developers from these Asian markets because why not? A few have already become huge like Genshin and Honkai among others plus they also make single player games too.

Microsoft paid for Fragpunk which while not for me looks cool and innovative but yet, it seems like they just go after smaller Indie level games or multi-player games for Game Pass day one. The last major day one single player game Microsoft got for Game Pass was A Plague Tale Requiem.

Take the upcoming Visions of Mana JRPG for example. Single player, I don’t see it selling much in general especially since it launches the same day as Star Wars Outlaws which is going to be huge and as of now, nothing. I would think that this wouldn’t be all that expensive and im sure Square Enix would love a Game Pass deal since their console/PC games don’t sell shit.

I can see why they’d want to get whatever sales they get up front and take a Game Pass deal later. I also assume a Game Pass deal has already been made since the game is Play Anywhere, it’s just not Day 1.

We also just got Day 1 games like Flintlock, Kunitsu gami, and Still Wakes the Deep. Not AAA, but neither is A Plagues Tale.

I do agree to some extent the problem is not many really want to put triple A games on Game pass , that is something Xbox has to bring internally unfortunately acquisition is the best way to ensure that. A Sega and maybe another South Korean publisher like Pearl Abyss or Blueside could remedy that. For third party though I think Game Pass might need to come up with a monetizing structure favourable to developers. For example content providers on social medias and places like YouTube are able to monetize content that works for both content provider and platform provider. If Game Pass can find that monetizing balance, then perhaps you’d see developers flocking to it.

Yeah, true. It would just be nice to see a game out of nowhere coming day one to Game Pass like Outriders did when it was announced two weeks before launch. Maybe im just being picky. Hehe.

Pearl Abyss is developing Crimson Desert which looks awesome and I would love for that to be on Game Pas day one but the way the game is looking, it has potential to be a Witcher 3 level game.

I agree with what you’re saying in regards to third party developers that are independent but I don’t think this would apply to massive publishers like EA and Take Two for example. With them, I think that Microsoft would probably have to overpay which I don’t see happening.
