XboxEra Community Hangout |OT12| The Dirty Dozen

I never trust previews since they all seem forced to be way too positive even if the game ends up being mediocre, but i did watch this and it sounds promising, i don’t care about the game’s story, etc, just looking for a game that’s brutal, that gets you scared to go somewhere, with an AI that’s a real threat, and looks like this one will deliver.

My most anticipated paid game by far this year, just a bit over 2 months :eyes: :eyes:

It looks more like an option to play games from the Xbox store on GFN, rather than all GFN games on Xbox. So there wouldn’t be any need for Sony to block anything.

I believe you can already play Sony games on GFN via the Xbox browser. I don’t think they’d care since its such an edge case and likely means you already bought a PC copy of their game. Not a big threat to the casual market esp since their timed exclusivity plays like Astro Bot wouldn’t be impacted

I’m still kinda confused what it is tbh, one of the games shown was SF6 which doesn’t have an Xbox store page.

I am leaning towards this being a first look at what a multi-store/multi-service Xbox experience looks like, where u link ur various accounts, it knows your entitlements, and serves as a launcher aggregating all of that into a single user experience.

Yeah, I should have put the /s on my post as I was being sarcastic lol.

I found it funny people compared a 6 person indie to huge studios as if it made any sense whatsoever. Such a pointless comparison in the end, guess it made that person’s day as it was his 1 day on social media (and probably the only 1 ever) where he managed to get some clicks!

Helldivers 2 will have some dedicated fans who will keep the game alive and people going back with every event or update. It’s like all Live service game.

Time will tell, but it’s silly to get any long time conclusion from these numbers less than 6 months from launch.

Sony’s continued investment in the game is what matters.

HD2 could die right now and they would have made more money off of it than the every imagined lol.

What is going to be the first promising co-op game coming up? Cat Quest 3 is August 8 I believe but anything else before that?

Just beat Messmer again, this time I went for the solo and succeeded. Towards the end of the fight he was about to do his snakes aoe, but I managed to jump in and hit him mid transformation so he gets no invisibility frames during it but even after dying he still managed a single attack.

Sort of forgot to fight the cerulean coast boss I’m missing, but I had already so much done in Messmers castle I just figured may as well.

I’ve always been a fan of cool adventure games, especially back in the days when I was still gaming on PC. Luckily consoles have some cool ones too. Such as Vertigo. It’s similar to Telltale games, it has a Sherlock vibe to it as well.

The story is really what kept me hooked and I really, really dig being able to play as different characters. Several cool twists that I didn’t see coming. It’s in the sale for Steam and Xbox, I guess PS too but I don’t have one, can’t check. Bought it for barely six euros myself. One more day and the sale ends.

This one really surprised me. This studio also made Blacksad and many other games. They also made the latest Tintin and it didn’t score great, but neither did Vertigo from what I’m seeing, so maybe Tintin is actually for me, lol.

But for this little money Vertigo is damn nice.

Yeah I’m not saying it’s not been a successful game - as @pg2g says, it’s likely done significantly better than expected.

My point was more that it’s going to be a while before we know how successful a live service game it is - basically whether the player counts will remain high enough after a year or two to justify the continued investment.

Ideally I imagine it’ll stay strong enough to be decently profitable above the cost of developing new content (yes it made a lot at launch but given quarterly financial reports, you can’t bank that and use it years down the line to prop up a loss-making game - yep capitalism sucks) until Helldivers 3 comes out

Why?

Yeah, I agree with you. We’ll see where it goes from there.

Yeah, Helldivers is a paid game, that has sold more than 10 million at almost full price. Everything else is a bonus, it will probably live at a 20-40k player base for the next year at least. That is good enough to sustain continuous updates for the game. FH, SoT, AOE average around 20k on steam and have had long support, they’ll make more than enough money in the time they need to make their next game.

Will it be the big live service game at the scale of destiny or overwatch? probably not, but this game is way more profitable for Sony than their standard AAA, and they’ll be happy to have more games like this. Even though they’d eventually want their own Fortnite/COD.

Doki Doki just got interesting…

After a very tragic happening the game said “end”. And I was back on the main menu, where it usually says new game it was just some weird symbols. I chose that. But I wanted to see what would happen if I had confessed my love to her instead. Only to find out all my manual saves are gone. This game is messing with me, lol. Really wanted to see the other outcome, but I guess not.

Games like this will blow up on streaming.

I saw a twitter person called Xbox Serious X/S saying its a timed exclusive, but is that even true at all? I was under the impression it was solely for PS and PC. I’d sure welcome it for my Xbox.
