Itās kinda crazy how much of the games shown at Xbox show I really want and how very, very little of these games during Nintendo I want.
Makes me really wonder how badly I even need a Switch 2, solely for Zelda and Mario? Maybe Metroid, but no clue yet since Iāve never played Prime before.
Itās really just not my shit at all! And hereās a text by my hardcore Nintendo friend saying heās extremely happy with this Direcft.

I donāt know what Iād give it. I have a Switch but hardly ever play or touch it. The only games here that interested me was Metroid 4 which I doubt is for the current Switch and MIO( memories in orbit)
I would but turn-based combat continues to just not be my thing. Tried it with several games and always failed to really get into it.

I literally tweeted that out the second after the trailer finished; Iām legitimately concerned by the fact that a game thatās been in dev for eight years and rebooted once, still looks exactly like the Metroid Prime games I played twenty years ago. Iām not just talking about the visuals, or the obviously scripted and rigged (read: not physics-based) world triggers, but the fact that the scan/shoot gameplay looks identical. I donāt want a BotW-level derail of the series, but I would like to see some actual evolution of the formula. Like you said, Nintendo (and Sony, frankly) gets a pass for being able to charge full price for remasters/remakes and moreso for reusing the same exact gameplay loops and workflows for decades.
It would be nice, at least, to have an objective media that could enjoy the show and then rewatch critically, because any objective, well-versed games journalist should be doing so and then asking those same questions. I can literally point to articles written condemning Xbox repeatedly for things that Sony and Nintendo are celebrated for.

I noticed Dragon Quest seems to be play anywhere. Hopefully more games follow that trend because playing a game on xbox and the my rog ally is a game changer

If Switch was my only system Iād be depressed, ngl, lol. But for the real fans itās probably more than enough. But these countless remakss, remasters, are not doing it for me.
The new console better have a strong lineup of games, otherwise I might not even bother.

Standards are so low for Nintendo, itās not even funny. Metroid prime gameplay looked so cookie cutter and people are going crazy, we just saw Doom dark ages and this is supposed to be impressive lol? B tier at best, a whole lot of nostalgia bait.

The fact that this Direct is even close to the Xbox showcase on Geoffās pole says everything. Nintendo fans are very hardcore, thereās reason they sell so much. But they like to overhype everything. Gets a bit annoying. For that amount of hype, I expect to see something amazing, but that is hardly the case besides mainline Zelda and Mario.

The direct was solid. I liked the amounts of jrpgs shown, will definitely get Fantasian and DQ3 on Xbox.
I like the mario and Luigi games though I do think the last mainline m&l game sucked.
Metroid Prime 4 looks okay, though what was shown didnāt look particularly exciting to me. Have yet to play a metroid game, though I do have the Metroid remaster in my backlog.
The zelda game looked kind of interesting.
