Hi all. Thanks for the kind words when I left. They were greatly appreciated.
I’m doing well. Been focusing more on other items of life and of course working toward conquering the backlog.
Also been getting into a lot of retro gaming too, as I got a Gamecube on my birthday and also recently picked up an OG Xbox.
Hope you’ve all been well. Might try to be a bit more active on here, but we’ll see. Some of the discourse online has been a bit… well rough to see at the very least. Kinda wish folks could be kinder to each other when talking about different topics, but alas that’s the internet. So again, we’ll see how active I get. 
And for those curious about what I’ve been playing… lol

Yes. They really have a big task ahead of them to switch to a data-oriented parallel model instead of the mostly single-threaded processing they have now. It’s such a big task that it may not even make it on UE6 but something for UE7.
See Unity’s DOTs for what UE still needs.

I would argue that Xbox is monitoring the console boost as well as Game Pass ever since WSJ article in which actually got a good boost. If they announce it this week, then I like to think they want to see more out of it. Of course, I expect them to showcase the game at the showcase still as well as the message on Game Pass, so this is going to be an interesting development starting here.
Yeah bit weird to announce before the showcase, I feel like they’d only do that if there is other news like all the Black Ops titles coming to game pass in June for example or today
People still follow heavily without the need of Showcase. In fact, the BO6 reveal has way more likes than MW3 reveal, so it’s off to a strong start. Since everyone is still focusing on the game in general, revealing it to general audience as oppose to “designed for Xbox fans” audience, it’s a smart move. Also, likely to grab even more attention to Showcase once they’re told that it’s going to Game Pass day one.
I remember BF2042 drew many attention. The only downside is it wasn’t coming to Game Pass. Yes, it had a rough launch, but that’s beside the point. Also, CoD is much larger. Like I said, Xbox needs to take this opportunity. Exaggerate or not, it’s now or never.
