I’d love TWEWY. Bought Remix on Switch, only for the the sequel to go only to PS4 & Switch.
I can see why some Journalist snaps at certain point. The comments are wild.
And that could easily be a Game Pass addition, Trials of Mana too.
I would gladly rebuy ff16 on Xbox . It’s amazing. Abso live a live please and secret of mama remake
They just haven’t pulled the gun out of the… HUlster yet
Quite curious to see how AC Shadows looks in terms of visuals, animations, combat etc. After what Tom Henderson said it sounds good. A significant engine update too from what I recall him saying.
Supposedly, it’s this gen only title.
It’d be cool if Xbox did a Game Pass deal, but if not I’d buy it as I’m interested to try it and also help to show that their games will get bought if they bring them to Xbox.
But not at £65/70 - if they release it at full price on Xbox I’ll wait for a sale, as it’s currently £25 to £40 for PS5 physical in the UK or £49.99 direct from Square, while the PSN price is £65 but very recently had it at 50% off.
I’m not paying full RRP to get a product a year later that I already spoilers of due to idiots online (including gaming media) - if it launches discounted to £49.99 or lower I’ll bite, but if they go full price I’ll wait until we get the 50% off promotion
(I’m aware Square will probably see that as “Xbox players don’t buy games” but they may figure out that’s a lie when they finally release FF17 day 1 on Xbox and many of us do buy it)
And it reaaaaaally should too, just like GTA 6. The other day I saw an article speculating about it. It would be hilarious if that were to be for last gen too. There is no way.
I mean, if it could run on last gen I don’t see why not to get more sales out of your titles. Scaling up or down is always possible depending on what you are trying to push with your title. Must definitely have helped Mirage in sales.
Actually, it makes me wonder how many users do MS and Sony still have that are mainly still on Xbox One and PS4.
That would be good. Xbox started this gen with the reveal of Hellblade 2 and it is about to release now, this could officially mark the true start for the series consoles. This will lead to the June showing with hopefully some amazing current gen only games and COD. The next COD game could explode Game Pass and would be the needed marketing to officially announce Game Pass to the world. If their cadence is good from here to 2026 where the release their next console that hopefully would have Steam and other storefronts. What Game Pass needs now is a platform that can be easily available to everyone. PC is fine but you still need a good rig to play some games. Cloud would be close but there isn’t enough bandwidth.
I imagine GTA6 will be this-gen only less down to graphics and more because the sheer amount of CPU / memory it’ll require to keep track of its world.
This is probably the first generation where I think some of the very best looking / most “next gen” feeling games have actually been cross-gen - Forza Horizon 5, AC Valhalla and Hogwarts Legacy.
There’s been the other experiences where I’ve had moments of “wow, look at that” (the Unreal 5 Matrix demo for one) but it has struck me that developers that can optimise well have managed to deliver beautiful games regardless - which is why I’m a bit derisive of claims about the Series S holding things back…
(Baldur’s Gate 3 is turn-based, difficult to look too far into the distance and apart from during conversations isn’t that pretty so I’m definitely not convinced by that one - probably doesn’t help I paid full price for it then bounced off it so I’m holding a grudge that they didn’t offer an Xbox trial like they did PS5)
BG3 is DX11 title. For all the shit Bethesda gets for not abandoning Gamebryo descending engines, somehow Larian is the one running with more outdated tech.
Honestly I would wait to be 100% certain that all of these games are coming to Xbox. I believe we’re getting more SE games, but still skeptical if this really means all of their games.
Don’t forget that Capcom release Mega Man Battle Network on “modern console” which excluded Xbox. I know it’s a smaller game, but I would still be cautious.
So I hadn’t been following all the news about how SE isn’t happy with the sales for their FF titles and such, except the tweet yesterday.
But does this mean these big mouthed Sony fanboys on Twitter that kept barking about how they have FF and dissing Xbox in the process…were doing free “marketing” for Sony but then just didn’t buy it? Or was it SE being…SE with their usual crazy high expectations for sales?
I remember they had that with Hitman and Tomb Raider games years ago.
Yeah, you’re right about that. But since DQ was on Xbox, KH too, you’d think it will. I would hope their big dog IP FF especially now.
Yeah I frequent some PC sites too and Larian are feted as gods, which I struggle with as I feel a bit ripped off by BG3 (particularly that they’ve given PS5 a timed trial of it but not Xbox, so I didn’t have a chance to try it first) and they report every message they put out as if it’s some wise words from the heavens.
It’s like they’ve not learnt from the worship of Molyneux and others over the years - Larian CEO says “layoffs are bad!” (well duh, let’s see what he says if their next game bombs), Larian CEO “says the Series S is holding back the Xbox release”, Larian CEO says “we’re using writers not AI” (no one is using AI to write their game’s plots ffs), Larian PR guy says “marketing is dead”, Larian CEO says “subs are bad, you won’t find our games in them” etc. etc. etc.
Even the fact the physical version has to come on 4 discs for Xbox got called sub-optimal by their publishing director and was reporting on by PC Gamer and many others.
And breathe…
Lol I may have a slight dislike for the condescending nature of some of the output around them…
Probably a bit of both. Console warriors using games they don’t intend to buy in their list wars is definitely a thing, but SE always has super high sales expectations for their games despite continuously releasing bad games and/or games exclusively for a system where the users of that system don’t really buy games.
There’s a a reason there’s a new guy running SE.
