It’s fascinating to see how many Sims “clones” are in development. We have Life by you, Paralives, Afterlife and now this unannounced game.
There games have flopped hard on Playstation and now are at risk of becoming irrelevant. I doubt they have a choice anymore in the matter. Even if the games don’t sell on Xbox, they can still down the line put it on game Pass to market it once again. Look at how much Game Pass has helped in boosting Sega IPs. At this point it would be their loss if they decide to withhold games from Xbox. Isn’t Mega Man Battle network an old game just being remastered? They might also have wanted the game Pass bag for this game.
I mean we just got FF14 and Visions of Mana under the new CEO, so it makes more sense to be optimistic.
True, but I do get him as well.
I’ll fully rejoice once FF7R and 16 have come to Xbox. I do fully expect all upcoming FF and DQ to be for Xbox as well.
I’m surprised people think Capcom not releasing a glorified ROM collection(that’s what it is) on Xbox is some sort of indictment on their plans to support Xbox.
People who didn’t play FF7 Remake yet will have a surprise when it comes to Xbox: the game is bloated and kinda boring ngl
Just play the original, it’s the better version (didn’t play the second remake yet)
I’m always curious how many people actually know that some of these games exist before they find out they’re not coming to Xbox. I’m not being snarky, I’m legitimately curious.
The fact that Mana was announced during an Xbox showcase before SE announced a full pivot to multi-platform makes the concern even stranger. It’s not optimistic to look at the Mana announcement (a series that has never been on Xbox), read the new announcement, and feel confident in knowing that at the very least we should be seeing every future game released on Xbox.
I’d be more than willing to bet that Pixel Remasters, and some of the other remasters are coming to Xbox, possibly with the FF16 announcement That is optimism
I can totally see the FFXVI announcement during the Xbox showcase.
I mean Mana is technically “niche” to the audience over here. Hell, I would say Xbox is trying to pull Persona stunt here, though I think it will be focusing on Square itself and not the franchise alone.

So, how long before narrative changes?
Translation: Rather than truly change, we are going to monetize the shit out of our existing users.
Sure tried with HD2 by forcing them to join PSN. That went well.
Agreed, I got to the flower house part I think, maybe a chapter or two after that, and realised I really didn’t care anymore.
I found some of the NPCs annoying, the levels were very corridor-like or very small open worlds, and the story was really drawn out.
After loving FF15 (which apparently makes me weird) it felt like a massive step backwards - if FF7R2 is more like 15 I might give it a go, and 16 seems different enough again that it might be worth a try.
But Remake I suspect I’d only go back to once I’ve exhausted my backlog (which given it only ever grows, never goes down, is unlikely to ever happen)
I’ve heard these criticisms before about FF7R, it’s a bit weird that the media just seems to not really take that into their score? I mean it’s all valid critique.
Well, I had positive feeling when they announced at X019 (?) that all of KH, FF and some of DQ (which was I think announced later + random GP drop) are coming to Xbox and then they suddenly stopped doing it.
I just don’t trust SE. Even when they have a new CEO.
They have a new CEO, they recently had Phil on stage shaking hands in what felt like a surreal moment and now they talk about ending their exclusivity habits because none of their games are hitting sales targets. I’m not a fortune teller, but the tea leaves would lead me to be optimistic… for now.
We had the brand manager of FF on stage at X019. Same day we had Phil Spencer saying that FF14 is coming to Xbox.
I just don’t trust this company. Wouldn’t surprise me if they did a 180.
