Either digital skyrocketed that much in about 8 months or something is up. I can understand the comparison with first one to be large margin with enough time to change the way of purchasing, but yeah, interesting. Iāll wait for more context. That said, āHurry with that Switch 2! Iām dying over here!!!ā Square, probably.
Suspect it will come up once the rest of the world data is included but seems like it didnāt do great physically in the UK either.
Square should never have signed the exclusivity agreement.
I will cut the new president some slack for now. This is from the old one, who is gone because of bad results.

(āXā is acting up again, wonāt show the tweetā¦)
This tweet from them basically says they exhausted their budget making the game (and showed me this phrase thatās new to me)
So Iām definitely happy to be getting the Collectorās Edition now. From what Iām hearing pre-orders (in Japan at least but likely worldwide too) have shot way up after the demo. Hopefully itās their biggest launch yet!
Few examples of 2024.
Nothing less than a disaster for Square. I bet the stock takes a hammering again.
It will be interesting to see how this materialises. At one point there was also chance that Tencent was also going to be forced to sell/divest off their US game studios, which would have included Riot Games (Valorant and League of Legends).
Assuming this bill gets through others could potentially follow.
Seeing that atlus has showed up at the last two june xbox showcases i wonder if they will make it 3 in a row this year
Here in the U.S., prices range from $10 to $20 per person depending on the city/state and what time you go to watch the movie. Doesnāt include the cost for snacks and drinks which are double the price compared to a supermarket. Shit adds up. I last went to the movies a decade ago with my girlfriend at the time and that shit cost around $50 for both of us including snacks and soda. Shit is expensive for what was around two hours of entertainment.
As for games, I believe the prices should be based on the game itself instead of a set price for all of them. I still say The Witcher 3 is worth $100 easily not just because a 100+ hour game but because the content is pure quality.
For Rebirth, im around 37 hours and have already gotten my $70 worth because the game is a high quality from top to bottom. Not perfect since no game is or ever will be but the more I play through it, the more I see it being my 2024 game of the year. First half is pretty much guaranteed but second half remains to be seen as of now.
I donāt campaign for higher game prices but at the same time, it depends on the game, the publisher, the studio, etc. Some games for me are easily worth the $70 price tag while others arenāt. I have been gaming since the NES in 1989 and I remember spending $80 years later in 1995 for Chrono Trigger on Super Nintendo. Easily worth the $80 back then.
Of course, this is all based on what your monetary means are and whatnot. Iām renting games from GameFly because itās cheaper and I can play more games for less money. Rebirth and Helldivers 2 are the only games I have purchased thus far in 2024. There could be others but too soon to tell.
Everyone should just do what they believe is best for themselves and their situation.
Itās still per person though right? I donāt buy multiple copies of the same game for myself.
I also donāt include the costs of any drinks or food that I consume while gaming and letās be real everyone just sneaks their own food in now - atleast we do
.
Some of the cinemas near me can be as low as £5/$6 but I appreciate that is not the norm.
Im not sure how a game can be valued on itās content, it would always be the publisher defining the value and Itās clear Sony, Square and EA would likely value their games at the top of range regardless of what the game is so the others would copy.
Thereās also the argument of quality over quantity, for example I spent months in Starfield and a week on Hi-Fi Rush but I would still rate the latter higher even though Hi-Fi Rush was cheaper (Starfield was still awesome).
I think itās still possible to be objective about price regardless of your monetary means, for example judging what is good value and what isnt. Ironically I have found the more money someone has the tighter they become .
Based on the above I still canāt see how they can compare in value.
How does GameFly compare to say GamePass in value? I know you donāt like internet connections but it sounds like the same concept. GameFly isnāt available here in the UK.
Very likely for Metaphor, which is set to be the next big game from Atlus, new IP and creator of highly acclaimed Persona. Thatās enough for fans to get hyped. Also, the fact GPU gets an expansion for free essentially, the marketing is going strong.

Looks like Xbox is going hard on perks this year.
This is so beautiful I might reinstall

Crazy how many live service Xbox has under their belt that basically prints money, like that joke (I think) where Bill Gates earns $7 per second every day.
