Should be a fun one. Whether a game is coming to GP or not, if itās good, I buy it. Of course it would be great to see some quality stuff coming to the service I pay for.
Sony seems to be taking the approach to Japan that MS did in the Xbox One days (as in, disregarding it). One could say thatās fine because theyāll get every game anyway, but I think itās a bit dangerous to just take things for granted in the long term. I mean they gave up talent that was at Sony for 20 years and now sheās working at Xbox. Long time PS only devs like Atlus or Vanillaware are now revealing their games at Xbox and Nintendo shows instead. Smaller devs like Falcom publicly stated that PS software sales are very bad (domestically) and started making -some- releases Switch only.
I was surprised at how little JP stuff they had to reveal on their show because typically September state of plays are for TGS, the only new reveal was Arise DLC.
Not to imply that Xbox will overtake PS there or anything, that would probably require a full Sony pull out lol.
I think Sony has that arrogant stance that no one will leave them and/or join to the ādark side,ā so they donāt need extra lifting. Whenever I hear timed exclusive done by paper, that means they have to do extra work for their competitor not to receive it. They want to weaken Xbox so much with timed exclusives and it was much easier when the devs decided themselves not to invest. Slowly, a lot more games are going back to multiplat to all platforms (well excluding Nintendo with western giants like EA) but you get the picture.
Sonyās strategy for Japan is Final Fantasy and pray for the best, theyāre probably fine losing market there while theyāre looking more at China & Korea for expansion
The sad part about timed exclusive is the studio is the one get the beating while the one who paid for just collect and chill.
Yep, Sony are the only ones really benefiting from that FF exclusivity deal.
Exactly my thought, but leave it to people to overhype it again, just like with R&C

Wow, back-to-back-to-back game pass.
Itās my birthday today, I was thinking of picking up a PS5 but I feel like I canāt really justify it when Iāve got too large of a backlog to get through.
Iām thinking of trading in my Xbox series s today to upgrade to a series x now that Iām playing on a 4k TV and need the 1tb of storage.
Iāll definitely miss the smaller form factor of the series s and the carrying case I have for the system, but some games just donāt look as good as they should on this tiny console. And I want to play Forza Motorsport this year but donāt have enough space for it, I donāt even have Forza horizon 5 installed right now.
First of all, Happy Birthday!
Series S does the job of playing the game right away or on the go whether you get it on a portable screen, or a handy monitor/tv in outside location. Plus small screen size does make no difference for visual quality.
That said I respect your decision to upgrade.
I think the series s is one of the best consoles Iāve owned, I just feel like I play so many video games now that I want to experience them at the highest fidelity.
When I was using my 1080p TV I couldnāt tell the difference in quality. I was playing Halo reach yesterday on master chief collection and I could tell immediately it looked worse than my Xbox One X.
Works on HDD as well
Quite an upgrade you are getting there. Donāt worry, series X is not that big. Itās form factor makes it much more mobile.
Although, if console convince is not a big factor for you try purchasing a PC if you may.
If I was in the market to buy a $550 device I would rather build a PC with rtx 3060.
Makes me wonder if all hands are going onto Everwild. Itās very hard for almost anyone to simultaneously keep a service game fed well and also develop a new game at the same time.
They already said a lof of stuff will be going into Season10 and thatās the reason it was delayed.
