yeah, that would be ok. i still want to play my old games from time to time and i only want to connect one console to my TV, not multiple Xboxes.
Iām not so sure with PS. They still sell a lot of physical media and their image as ādefaultā is helped an awful lot by the shelf space they occupy in stores.
who knows. I see what they just did with the new ps5 model as a test just like xbox with the digital xbox one but i could totally be wrong
Playstation will head the same direction as Xbox, it will just take longer
Digital sales are trending higher and higher for PS as well and these digital/buy disc drive separately consoles will only accelerate it
This is pretty stupid and I love it. Sound on.
Ignorance is bliss I guess. To those who know, we have no idea what MS is doing with Xboxās future.
And you guys cant be serious when saying Xboxās future is bright with all the uncertainty surrounding the brand. Lets see what they say in the next earning reports but if I were an āhardcoreā xbox fan I dont see reasons to be optimistic.
So we must be default to negative?
To those who know, Xbox is going to provide a ton of games in the future and they are going to be available to people on their subscription service.
None of this other stuff will over shadow that to me.
I must have tripped and fell through a time warp and landed back in 2016 again. Really hate it when that happensā¦
Seriously. The doom and gloom schtick gets so old after a while. I honestly think some people have a misery fetish or something. Go play some games.
Not sure if we have a proper deals threadā¦ but finally Iām happy to say Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE is on sale (Switch exclusive)!
Iād be all over this right nowā¦ but LAD: Infinite Wealth is going to continue to absorb my time till P3Rā¦ then till FFVII: Rebirthā¦ then Unicorn Overlordā¦
All of the shows this weekend like the xbox era podcast and xbox 2 are gonna be good listens. Gonna be interesting to hear what everyone has to say. I already saw dreamcast guy with his Crocodile tears lol
Oh yeah that game was a 50 hour ride (maybe like 45 without the side content, there isnāt much) so if youāre gonna grab it, itās another time eater
Iāll definitely probably pick it up this weekend! Thinking Iām going to attempt to beat 1-2 larger games a month and then filter in whatever else I can in between.
12 games deep already!
The problem is when you actually dig down into Apple āopening upā IOS you see they put up so many roadblocks it makes no sense for the app developers. They want to charge a 27% fee for alternative payment options outside of Apple and they are making it so difficult to move outside the apple store:
Now itās being reported they want to charge ā¬0.50 per download for every side loaded app that hits the threshold:

I havent bought a single physical game for my Series X and I am all (adorably) digital with this console. The problem is, ditching physical completely is factually given customers less options and makes your console less attractive for many people, even though it is the direction the industry is heading.
While Iām less concerned about physical than many, I actually decided to buy the X over the S because I could play dvds and Blu rays on it and because it had more space to install on. I hope if they do go the route of offering only digital console for the next gen, that they offer an external. I know has spoken to this in the past though, and mentioned that itās difficult to price this well since it will cost the more to make and sell separately than people might like, but PS offering it first might help.
I also like the offering a nice physical pack like the Starfield Constellation Edition that had the game on a credit stick for collectors.
I am 50-50 in terms of physical and digital and I still buy physical sometimes because itās cheaperā¦I got PoP for 40 euros and I can buy LaD: Infinite Wealth physical for 48 euros right now while itās 70 euros (!) on the Xbox store and that doesnāt even include having the option to sell/trade-in my physical copies.
IF the talk about Xbox ditching physical media completely is real taking away options in the middle of the generation is a bad decision IMOā¦and the elephant in the room is what will happen with those of us who already have a beefy physical collection from the previous Xbox generations and of course what will happen with the BC games that are only playable via the disc? at the very least I hope MS will have a solution for that with an optional external drive.
Iāll preface this by saying that, of course, the job losses suck for those affected. However, as a consumer who primarily plays on Xbox and looking forward to a plethora of games releasing on it, what exactly isnāt bright?
Am I supposed to be worried because Hi-Fi Rush & SoT may launch on other consoles? SoT is the easy one, it needs players as a live service title and launching on more popular platforms is a great way to do this. Hi-Fi Rush has made the number crunchers at MS happy, but it has potential beyond gaming (tv, movies, merchandise) in my opinion and could do with bigger exposure, perhaps BGS/Tango/Xbox feel the same?
Should we be worried because it creates doubts as to what titles will remain exclusive permanently? Phil Spencer has said BGS titles exclusivity will be decided on a case-by-case basis, Hi-Fi Rush could well indeed become multi-plat, but looking at Indy & Starfield, those will remain exclusive. So, Xbox are doing what they said? It seems to me it was the online forum discourse assumption that itād only be live service games (FO76, ESO) or legacy titles (Quake remaster) hit, thatād get released elsewhere thatās behind a lot of this concern. I donāt recall Xbox ever specifying the types of games that would or would not be exclusive/multi-plat.
It seems to me, and it may seem dismissive to you and others, but a lot of this concern seems to stem from a portion of gamers losing bullet points for their list wars, because you canāt look at the investments MS has made in gaming recently and come to the serious conclusion there will be no console follow-up to the Series X, or that youāll see no point in buying it due to the likes of Halo, Forza, Elder Scrolls, launching on the PS6.
If that does happen, fair play, go concern-crazy. Me, Iāll just upgrade my PC and continue to buy all the consoles.
