Ironically, the only video game that’s ever made me feel queasy was Metroid Prime 3 on Wii.

I guess they’d better release on PC because God knows no PS5 gamer is going to survive trying to play an FPS.

Yeah I get that, Fortnite and GTA is third person so it is a popular perspective on its own, but this “First Person games sucks cause it makes me nauseous” is bullsh@t because in the last 20 or so years, First Person Shooters were the most popular games and those who are complaining probably played COD or other FPS with no problems.

Not too familiar with KindaFunny but do they evoke console war? Because that clip about how Xbox showed so many First Party titles and said PS has Helldivers 2 and the guy laugh off since it’s only one. Anyway, seriously, PS needs to showcase a lineup very soon, and I don’t mean ones that’s all coming next month and 2.

Playstation has exclusive games lineup for this year that’s decent depending on how some turn out could be great. Problem is things biting you in the ass based what some narrative was framed on what counts and what doesn’t, for the longest time the narrative was framed around only internal first party content counts, and of that PS has like 0 in this year…

Which sucks because I think Rise of Ronin will be good cause Team Ninja is a great studio, but it has lukewarm reception from the PlayStation fanbase. Sad cause I liked Nioh and Wolong even when I was getting burnt out of the souls genre( Thanks Elden Ring lol).

It doesn’t help that Dragon Dogma 2 is releasing at the same time with “better” fidelity and since Capcom has been considered as Godcom, they will eat it up.

YES! We got a new bad news for Xbox to spread!

It’s hilarious nobody says anything about steam having similar popups whenever you load it up . People just want something to complain about v. It’s not hard to close and why wouldn’t Microsoft wants their consumers to know about their products

They’re one of the “outlets” that refused to comment on the insomniac leaks (because they have buddies there and are featured in Spider Man, etc.), only 24 hours after parading the Rockstar leak around. They also commented on other leaks that involved personal info being leaked as well, so their excuse is absolute bullshit. Should tell you everything you need to know about the outlet…

Did they comment on other leaks afterwards?

My thoughts on the fps vs tps debate is gamers have no clue what they want . Firstly, people were saying they would never touch a turn based game like bg3 and said it’s a turn off. After the game blew up they tried it and enjoyed it, and now gamers want RPGs to be turn based . I see people were saying that about avowed how it should be turn based and not first person. In my head I am saying where the heck were you people for the first 2 pillars game

Anyways, I am just rambling but gaming discourse is an all time low and people decide to hate on games until they actually try them. This is pretty much happening with Indy but gamers love hype and will try it after word of mouth. I just find people making up reasons to dislike a game before playing it lame. People are legit upset if you enjoyed what you saw with Indy and avowed because they aren’t in the view they want the game to be. Lastly, Indy being first person can inspire other adventure games to go that route because first person adventure games can work and not all games need to be first person

I don’t understand why Team Ninja is insisting on make another game exclusive on PS again…it didn’t work for Nioh and I don’t think it will work here too. I think that it’s pretty clear that multiplatform is the way to go. Oh well…good luck to TN I guess. :stuck_out_tongue:

Just to add more context, I don’t like what the gaming community has become nowadays. Games live in die by hype and online discourse now, not the content or the vision of the game. Games are now expected to follow a certain template to appease these “gamers”, and if they don’t, they are “trash” or “ doesn’t interest me”. It sucks because studios will see this and that would deter them from making a game in their own vision and must follow the accepted “template” in order for their game to make money.

Maybe they are right about motion sickness. That explains PSVR2 sale and its presence being lost.

Right?

Cuz they’re getting backed by Sony on the project.

Both Nioh games were big successes for Koei though, that’s why projects like Final Fantasy Origin and Wo Long got made (though neither of those had Nioh level success, IMO both felt B-team, all major hands are obviously on Ronin).

Plz like and subcribe for more jokes.

Preferences are fine; we all have them and have expressed them. Sometimes it sucks when an upcoming game doesn’t align with your preferences and there’s nothing wrong with that.

There’s a thin line between being genuinely disappointed and proactively going out of your way to manufacture reasons to dislike something. I think you hit on what gets so frustrating about this. I don’t doubt that there are people who love Uncharted, were hoping Indy would be an Uncharted clone, and are genuinely not thrilled about a first person game. I totally get that, I love Uncharted as much as the next guy. But this sudden groundswell of people who are seemingly completely opposed to non-third person video games, and the people coming out of the woodwork to talk about motion sickness. It just comes across as… fake. Like people want to say something negative, but they don’t have a real opinion to express, so they find a bandwagon to jump on. Instead of narratives being driven by opinions, people look for the narrative first and then conform their own opinion to it.

I would much rather read a thread full of negative reactions to something if it felt like they were genuine reactions. Not post after post of people who may as well be bots just repeating a complaint they heard someone else say and think they’re supposed to share.

Tried F1 2023 with Gamepass, but I guess Forza spoiled me in the graphics and handling department.

Played a couple of chapters of the story mode, then decided to uninstall.

It’s cool for people that didn’t get to see it, not everyone is like us, closely following every bit of news. These ads/pop up thingies only happen once and it’s absolutely fine. But I’m sure folks are bitching. :joy:

Until recently I thought RotR was a Sony IP and that the game was funded and published by them a la Bloodborne but apparently (correct me if I am wrong) RotR is not a Sony owned IP. So the agreement is most likely only about publishing at this point as I am sure if the game was funded by Sony they wouldn’t let KT own the IP. About Nioh I am confident that if the game was full multiplatform and released on all platforms at the same time it would do a lot better than that 7m, we know that Soul-likes sell really good on both Xbox and especially PC.

Of course we don’t know the details on the agreement between the two companies but I find it weird to not fund a game/own the IP and decide when and where the game will launch, by not doing at least a simultaneous PS and PC release they greatly limit the game’s audience/success IMO and AFAIK KT isn’t exactly a small company/publisher that needs help from someone like Sony.

I may be wrong on this and the game will find it’s audience/success on PS5 after all but I highly doubt it, we’ll see I guess. :person_shrugging:
