Don’t think BG1 and BG2 are even Larian games. Haven’t played any of them, but don’t know if they’d give that much of an approximation of what BG3 is like.
To test if you like turn based CRPG, I would play Pillars of Eternity 2, Shadowrun Trilogy or Wasteland 3. You could also play Wasteland 2 and Tides or Numenera, but both are lower budget games and harder for new players.
All of them are on Game Pass.
Really good suggestions, I will check it out in the weekend.
It was interesting because when BG3 launched I spoke to someone on Twitter and he said he really disliked this kind of combat normally, but when he started with BG3 he slowly got into it and now loves the game. Hoping that’s the same for me.
One reviewer, Paul Tassi it was said that you can always put combat difficulty on easy and still enjoy the game a lot. I appreciate the option is there, but ideally the combat grows on me too.
This is good for contractors, which bodes well for studios like 343. Good for the workers who were seeking full time opportunities at Microsoft/Zeninax.
I just watched the Monster Hunter Wilds trailer again, in 4K this time. I have no doubts it will be fantastic, but visually I can’t deny that right now it’s underwhelming, the location but also the creatures really remind me of Rise, as in character models in terms of how detailed they are.
Which is odd, because in MHW to this day they still look great and detailed and the animations are awesome. The first MHW trailer definitely impressed more. I really hope they improve how it all looks significantly. There’s plenty time.
i think the desert doesn’t do no favors for visuals
Yeah, that is true. But still, the desert in MHW looks great. I don’t know, I had hoped to have been floored by visuals for a current gen MH. I find it odd how it seems so much like Rise, rather than World.
Making an attempt at Persona 5 Tactics but I think I might nope out of this one.
2025 is already stacked and 2024 is yet to begin
Looks great. Way more my type of game than the two Ori games. Seems dark and brutal too. Nie to see Moon Studios go in the opposite direction compared to Ori.
It’s a little(a lot really) tutorial heavy, but I’m enjoying the fact that movement isn’t set in stone beyond how far we can move. Since we can move anywhere and back, we can test out where we want to place ourselves.
The once more mechanic still being part of it also allows us to make extra moves in our turn and use it to position our characters for their all out attacks. It does also make each turn feel much longer because we could get multiple once more and just continue our turn.
But understandable why anyone would drop it, I think the tutorials are all to mush together and I haven’t really left the tutorial yet since I need to get some extra teammates.
It must be taxing to the engine. I’m guessing though. It does appear to be going for the sake of amount of activity on one screen.
I tried it, but I just couldn’t get into it. Loved every minute of Persona 5 though.
Not the only regulator having a look with the FTC starting to look into the deal. At the same time there’s also investigations into Microsoft on the cloud side by regulators and amazon/Google(though that’s the very definition of pot kettle black) having piled in due to how Microsoft handles licensing on it’s software cloud business.
Basically Microsoft has grown an insane amount, taken market share from its competitors and there’s worries about it dominating with a combination of cloud/AI/software something it’s rivals struggle to match
I have two reasons for this. One is that it’s because it’s targeting Switch 2 and probably even at 60fps, and the second is that maybe they want this to be a more live game with speedy updates and content additions and that would be hard with high fidelity graphics

Lol at all the journo’s suddenly criticizing the game awards. They must’ve seen the engagement some of those early tweets got and are trying to hop on the engagement train.
